Global Spirits founder Yevhen Cherniak said that he is adding Canadian whiskey to his portfolio. According to him, he started contract bottling at Stillus Craft Spirits in Canada, located between Toronto and Ottawa. Global Spirits plans to release the first batch of Canadian whiskey in November 2025. Of this batch, 50% will remain in Canada and the remaining 50% will be distributed among different countries, including Ukraine.
Global Spirits already has two types of American bourbon in its portfolio - Cumberland Falls and Bell Rock, which have been produced on a contract basis in the United States since the COVID pandemic.
Cherniak expects Canadian whiskey to enter the low-price segment, he says. For this purpose, he chose the Canadian family-owned Stillus Crafts Spirits. The first batch is being produced using Ukrainian technology.
The bottle, label, and cork are all made in Ukraine, Cherniak notes. The company buys 10 million bottles at once, which allows it to get a significant discount on components in Ukraine. According to Cherniak, even taking into account logistics, it is cheaper than production in Canada alone.
