Прощання з Романом Столпером
5 серпня після хвороби пішов із життя Роман Столпер.
Романа знала більшість грибоводів в Україні та багато спеціалістів за її межами.

У 2000-х роках він заснував одне з перших грибних підприємств у Луганську. У 2014 році Роман переїхав до Києва, де працював в компаніях UMDIS, «Верес», «Світ Соломи» — виробляв компост та консультував десятки грибних ферм.

Роман брав активну участь у розвитку UMDIS: він працював з нами під час підготовки першої конференції у 2014 році та став засновником магазину для грибоводів UMDIS, співвласником якого залишається й досі.

У 2024 році Роман разом із Максимом Єнченком записав онлайн-курс з компостування, який досі доступний на сайті UMDIS.

Останній рік життя Роман працював в Ірландії на компостному виробництві компанії Walsh Mushrooms.

На жаль, великі життєві плани Романа перервала онкологія.

Ми пам’ятатимемо Романа як друга, добру, щиру людину, справжнього експерта, завжди готового прийти на допомогу.

Прощання з Романом відбудеться наступної середи, 13 серпня, у місті Вексфорд, Ірландія.

✅ UMDIS Mushroom Courses Completed in Poland!
From July 21 to 26, 2025, we successfully held two intensive and practical training courses at the Fungi Team mushroom farm in Poland:

🍄 Mushroom Growing Course (July 21–23) led by Wojtek Konieczny
🍄 Mushroom Harvesting Course (July 24–26) led by Lina Turovska

🔹 17 participants joined the growing course, and 15 took part in the harvesting course
🔹 The training included real farm experience, theory, and interactive sessions
🔹 We also visited the compost yard during the growing course

We’ve just completed the UMDIS Mushroom Growing Course in Poland! 🇵🇱🍄

From July 21st to 23rd, 2025, 17 participants took part in an intensive 3-day UMDIS training program led by Wojtek Konieczny.

The course took place on the Fungi Team mushroom farm in Poland — a modern commercial facility that currently operates 24 growing rooms, with plans to expand to 50. This setting allowed for true hands-on learning in a real production environment — not just theory, but direct observation and interaction with live production processes.

Over the three days, we covered:
– Filling
– Watering and climate control
– Pinning, pinheading
– Disease prevention

We also visited Unicost, a compost production facility, where participants saw professional Phase I, II and III composting up close.

This wasn’t just a course — it was a deep dive into real-life mushroom farming, with active discussions, case solving, and direct experience.

Mycionics, a Canadian-based pioneer in advanced mushroom harvesting systems, is announcing the launch of its robotic mushroom harvesting and scanning system with South Mill Champs, one of North America’s largest mushroom farms.

A rigorous six-month pilot proved the market’s first economically viable solution to the industry’s ressing labour challenges. Employing a hybrid harvesting approach enabled by the Christiaens Group’s drawer infrastructure, this technology allows humans and robots to work side-by-side on centralized platforms. The method leverages humans for their skill, and robots for their precision and stamina. With two robotic arms, the system harvested 33% of the crop with quality exceeding human harvesting, while also providing real-time crop insights that optimize growing and harvest decisions.

“Having lived through the complexities of robotizing traditional mushroom farms, I am confident in this new hybrid approach,” said Stefan Glibetic, CEO of Mycionics. “Now validated by South Mill Champs’ commitment to this large-scale deployment, it marks a new era for mushroom production.”

Deployment at South Mill Champs will occur in two phases. Phase one, beginning July 2025, will implement Mycionics’ scanning and pointing technologies farm-wide. These are projected to enhance harvesting efficiency by 15% and increase crop yield by 4-8% through guided labour and precision picks.
This phase also includes demonstrating Mycionics’ next-gen robotic system, capable of harvesting 75% of the crop through robotic picking, packing, sorting, and grading. Phase two will fully populate the farm with robotics in 2026.
Mycionics is poised to transform the industry beyond North America. Following South Mill Champs’ lead, several farms in Europe have committed to adopting the technology, signalling strong international interest and the broad applicability of Mycionics’ solutions.
