Apostle Rwothomio: On Divine Healing and the Limits of Medicine
"We unequivocally affirm: Our proclamation that Jesus heals" is not an indictment against doctors. Without physicians, countless lives—Christian and non-Christian alike—would be lost .
1. Doctors Have Limits
Medical science reaches boundaries:
Is there no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored? (Jeremiah 8:22, ESV).
When diseases defy detection (e.g., unknown ailments) or resist treatment (e.g., cancer, HIV/AIDS), medicine often declares them "incurable" . Yet Scripture declares: With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26, ESV) .
2. Divine Healing Transcends Human Methods
God healing is NOT mediated through:
- Surgical procedures (e.g., C-sections),
- Prescribed diets or exercises,
- Human effort alone .
It is God’s direct intervention:
He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave (Psalm 107:20, NLT) .
We witness:
- Diseases doctors deemed terminal vanishing,
- Demons fleeing at Christ’s authority,
- Even the dead restored to life .
3. Scripture’s Authority Over Human Wisdom
Let God be true, and every human being a liar (Romans 3:4, NIV).
Divine healing fulfills God’s Word:
"By his wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24, ESV).
This power operates beyond:
- Pen-and-paper diagnoses,
- Worldly philosophy,
- Religious formalism .
4. God’s Miraculous Power Is Active Today
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8, ESV) .
He still heals without intermediaries:
They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (Mark 16:18, ESV) .
Reject "dead religion." Embrace the living God who confirms His Word with signs (Mark 16:20).
