MP Kisos Chemaswet Decries Poor Health Services in Soi Constituency

Soi County Member of Parliament, Hon. Kisos Chemaswet, has voiced his frustrations over the inadequate health service delivery in his constituency. Speaking during a meeting with the Ministry of Health’s committee, Hon. Kisos passionately highlighted the dire state of healthcare in Soi, citing alarming statistics and personal accounts from his community.

The MP criticized the ministry’s report, which presented optimistic national health indicators, arguing they did not reflect the reality in his constituency. “In Soi, life expectancy is at 51 years, far below the national average of 67.7 years,” he said, adding that his constituency faces severe challenges, including high maternal mortality and infant mortality rates.

“Mr chair, I’ve come to this committee to hang myself. And the chair, I have come with my rope. And I will keep it here first. When we look at the report and the presentation of the minister, she’s talking of life expectancy adverse increasing from 67.7 years to 82.2 years but with us in Soi constituency, we are at 51 years which means we die early because we don’t have health centres,” Kisos said.

Hon. Kisos condemned the lack of healthcare infrastructure, revealing that residents must travel over 140 kilometers to access basic health services in Kween or Mbale districts. “Women are dying daily; even today, I received calls about deaths due to inaccessible health facilities,” he lamented.

He criticized the unequal distribution of resources, citing other districts that have multiple ambulances and upgraded health centers, while Soi remains neglected. “How can we talk about emergency services when my constituency does not even have an ambulance?”

Hon. Kisos also questioned the allocation of funds, emphasizing that Soi has not benefited from the billions of shillings allocated for healthcare. “Over 4 billion shillings are bein

The renowned Sebei comedian Yonna Bless has fired back to Chirichiri following his recent comments about him.

Yonna had promised to put everyone to where they belong among people who had been attacking him that he can’t make a good MC or that he has been cutting them short whenever they are performing on stage.

Yonna Bless on a video he posted on Saturday night noted that Chirichiri who happens to be the president of Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) greater Sebei has turned the offices of the association into lodges whereby he sleeps with the upcoming female artists.

“When you went to kampala, where did you take the two female artists you went with, tell us. we have been quiet, you think we don’t know what you have been doing,” Yonna Bless wondered.

Further Yonna said that, Chirichiri was beaten badly recently after he sold a motorcycle to a certain boy at government lodge and later made a deal with some people and the motorcycle was stolen from the boy.

“When you sold a motorcycle to one of the boys at government lodge and later made a deal until the motorcycle was stolen and you were beaten badly, did we talk about it?, you should be very careful with me,” Yonna Bless added.

Further, Yonna Bless claimed that Chirichiri conned his uncle’s son over 40 million and escaped to Mbale where he later returned home with only a handkerchief after he squa ndered the money.

“You organized a show in Kaserem, you got 800k you lived in the ghettos of kaserem until you finished the money before you came back home. you organized a show in kampala and collected all the money from the artist and made them struggle to come back home. You organized another show in Kitale Kenya and it flopped. So you are just a failure,” Yonna Bless added.
Further, Yonna noted that all the office equipment at UMF officers are second hand.
