On Friday while fishing on lake Edward kasese district, Fisher men at kayanja Landing site in Nyakiyumbu subcounty caught a rare very expensive blue Marlin fish valued at 1 million US dollars (3.6 billion ugandan shillings )

A fellow fisherman who noticed the rare fish tried to plead with them not to eat the fish as he had contacted a friend in kampala who could link them to market of the fish.

The fishermen refused to listen to him and today morning a team of four buyers arrived from Kampala with a part payment of 250 million shillings for the fish and found when the fishermen had already eaten it the previous night.

As we talk now, loud cries, rivers of tears are rocking the fishing village of kayanja as the team of buyers has headed back to kampala with all the cash.

THE LAKE EDWARD CROCODILE PROJECT.
Yesterday this innocent child survived being eaten by a crocodile in katwe town council

The parents had left the child alone at home when the crocodile spotted him and quickly started crawling towards him, it grabbed him and swallowed him half way, luckily the neighbors saw it and started screaming at the crocodile which prompted it to drop the young boy.

In 2009, reports of an unnamed agency bringing thousands of crocodile eggs into lake Edward surfaced, by 2012 there was a n increase in reports of human crocodile death especially at katwe Landing site.

This was followed by an alarming decrease in fish numbers in lake Edward leading to the heaviest deployment of military on the lake in history and a violent crack down on fishermen and fish traders reducing them by almost 75% after most of them suffered hefty punishments including burning away of their fish sticks, boats , fishing nets, long term imprisonment.

In kasese trading in fish is the most dengerous business activity with heavily armed marine road blocks mounted in every corner.

Question: who owns the lake Edward crocodile project????
