Katunguru FC emerged winners of the Kasese District Football Association 6th Division league after defeating Kilembe Mines FC 2–1 in a closely contested final.

The match, which attracted strong support from both sides, saw Katunguru FC secure a hard-fought victory to lift the title and conclude their campaign on a high note.

Kilembe Mines FC managed to pull one goal back, but it was not enough to deny Katunguru FC the championship triumph.

The Kasese Catholic Diocese, which was expected to lead this year’s national Martyrs’ Day celebrations at Namugongo, marked the occasion with a special Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral in Kasese Municipality.

While delivering his homily, Bishop Francis Aquirinus Kibira encouraged Christians to be “martyrs of truth” by standing for honesty, justice, and strong faith in their daily lives.
