✨ A True Honor at ! ✨
We were deeply honored to welcome Hon. Betty Amongi Akena, Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, as our Guest of Honour.

In her powerful remarks, she praised the NUFA team for their relentless effort in making this historic event happen — even without prior government support.

🌟 Hon. Amongi generously supported NUFA with UGX 5 million and pledged ongoing support through her ministry, including a SACCO facility for filmmakers to borrow at only 6% interest — a huge boost to the creative economy in Northern Uganda.

🎬 She also presented the Northern Uganda Film Legacy Award to the legendary Akello Barbara (Abony Sylvia Rose) for her role in “Wek Abonyo Kwani”, one of the region’s first iconic films.

🎬✨ A Night of Wisdom & Legacy! ✨🎬

We were deeply honored to host Amb. Olara Otunnu, one of the most distinguished guests at the NUFA Awards 2025.
During the heartfelt tribute to fallen icons from Northern Uganda, Amb. Otunnu shared a powerful message:

"Thanks for the memories of the great people whom you have shown their photos, thank you for your tribute to them. Next time, come to me and I'll give you a long list of them!"

He further inspired creatives with this heartfelt appeal:
