Sad! Early Today There was an accident along the Kalagi - Kayunga Road near Namyoya Village, at around 11:30am, involving motorcycles and vehicles escorting the National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential Candidate, Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu alias Bobi Wine on his way to Jinja!
According to Uganda Police Force, preliminary reports indicate that one speedy motorcycle in the convoy, collided with a vehicle from behind, which triggered a chain reaction where multiple motorcycles crashed into one another before a coaster collided with them!
The vehicles involved include the Coaster Mitsubishi UAZ 064H and motorcycles with registration numbers UFQ 569H, UGH 892B, UEK 351T, UFQ 250Q, among others, which have since been removed from the site.
The injured persons registered so far, mostly motorcycle riders or passengers, are:
a. Kewanza Bashir, 27 years, passenger
b. Kakaire Bashir, 35 years
c. Ssepereza Musa, 40 years, passenger
d. Kisomba Michael, 28 years, motorcycle rider from Nansana
e. Ssewaya Eric, 23 years, motorcycle rider
f. Mutagubya Robert, 24 years, motorcycle rider
Police officers visited the scene, and three motorcycles along with one vehicle have been towed to Naggalama police yard for inspection.
