SHAMARAT: Governor-Funded Love Story Ends in Tears

What began as a dreamy romance has ended in betrayal, heartbreak, and leaked voice notes. 10 States TV uncovers the tragic downfall of Akany, a young filmmaker from Khartoum, whose whirlwind love story with Diana the self-proclaimed Regina of Shilluk has come crashing down.

Once described as “Akany’s blessed flower,” Diana was the darling of the social scene beautiful, calculating, and rumored to have a weakness for money and influence. When the two met, Diana was still living on fata ful and boiled water, with big dreams and even bigger curves some allegedly enhanced.

Akany, caught between affection and fantasy, welcomed her into his life. Coming from refugee camps in Sudan, Kenya, and Uganda, Diana stepped into a new chapter. Their relationship flourished, reportedly Financed by former UpperNile Governor James Odhok, who quietly funded their upscale lifestyle and romantic escapades.

But when the Governor was removed from office and the money stopped flowing, the love story quickly lost its spark.

Fourteen months into the engagement with no wedding in sight Diana disappeared, leaving Akany heartbroken and confused.

“They warned me she was a gold digger,” Akany confessed in an emotional voice note to his cousin. “But I was blinded by hips and fake humility.”

Diana, on the other hand, was unapologetic.

“How can I marry a man who still sleeps on someone else’s mattress?” she reportedly said. “He claimed he had a house in Gurei and a car in Juba turns out, he doesn’t even own a pillow.”

Sources close to Diana say her standards rise with every man’s bank balance, with one insider joking:
“If he’s rich, Diana spreads faster than a Junubin leaked WhatsApp video.”

"When I made my first million dollars from music, I was so excited that I spent it quickly. The first thing I bought was a studio, so if all else failed, I could always write and produce records for other artists.

I spent about $250,000 on that studio equipment. Then I gave my mom $150,000, my dad $150,000, and I gave all my brothers about $25,000 to start businesses.

When my girlfriend at the time found out, she asked me for $200,000. I just laughed and gave her $5,000 because I can never give a woman more than 2% of my total money. She broke up with me then, but I wasn't upset because I realized she only wanted Money, not me.

The truth is, if you want to stay rich as a man, you have to be very stingy with these ladies. Akon
