🚨 Vice President Jessica Alupo has issued a strong call for discipline, accountability, and zero tolerance for corruption, reaffirming Cabinet’s commitment to delivering results for Ugandans during the ongoing Ministers’ Induction Retreat at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi.

Addressing ministers and permanent secretaries, Alupo thanked President Yoweri Museveni for the confidence he placed in her and the newly constituted Cabinet, vowing that the government would not betray the trust entrusted to it by the people.

She congratulated the President on successfully forming the new Cabinet and pointed to the recent State of the Nation Address and National Budget Speech as key milestones that provide a clear roadmap for Uganda’s development agenda.

The Vice President described the 10-day induction programme as a crucial platform for equipping ministers with the knowledge and skills needed for effective leadership and service delivery, stressing that continuous learning remains essential in public office.

Alupo reaffirmed the government's commitment to implementing the National Development Plan and the 2026–2031 development framework, which aim to accelerate Uganda’s transition to upper middle-income status through sustainable economic growth.

In a firm warning against poor governance, she declared that there is no room for corruption, inefficiency, complacency, or delays in implementing government programmes and presidential directives. She said Cabinet is determined to ensure timely ex*****on of national priorities and accountability at all levels.

🚨 Former Kira Municipality MP and People's Front for Freedom (PFF) Secretary General Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has responded to threats of arrest allegedly issued by Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The exchange follows reports that Muhoozi warned Ssemujju and fellow opposition leader Erias Lukwago could be arrested if they attempt to serve him court papers in a lawsuit linked to alleged threats against detained opposition figure Dr. Kizza Besigye.

The case stems from controversial social media posts attributed to Muhoozi, including remarks that critics say suggested Besigye should be hanged. Opposition leaders are now seeking legal action over the statements.

🚨 The Uganda Law Society (ULS) has issued a 24-hour ultimatum demanding the immediate and unconditional release of former Kampala Lord Mayor, Hon. Erias Lukwago, the acting president of the People's Front for Freedom (PFF).

Lukwago, who is also a member of Dr. Kizza Besigye’s legal team, was reportedly abducted by armed men dressed in military uniform from his residence in Wakaliga on Monday morning.

Speaking on behalf of the society, ULS Acting Council Secretary Babu Ssali announced that a special Rule of Law Committee has been established to pursue both domestic and international legal action if Lukwago is not released within the specified timeframe.

Ssali said the planned legal measures could extend to senior security officials, including the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba , as the society seeks accountability for what it describes as a violation of the rule of law.

The ultimatum raises pressure on security agencies amid growing concern over Lukwago's whereabouts and safety.

“No foot soldier in PLU can deny the impact Frank Gashumba has had on the movement. If the person who appointed me believes I no longer have value to add, that is entirely his decision.

But let one thing be clear: there is a brand called Frank Gashumba, and its influence speaks for itself.” — Frank Gashumba

🚨 Politician and lawyer Medard Lubega Sseggona has revealed that Erias Lukwago is determined to personally track down and serve Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, , with court documents in a human rights enforcement application filed by opposition leader .

According to Sseggona, Lukwago vowed to ensure the court process is executed despite heightened tensions surrounding the case.

The matter stems from a recent High Court directive ordering Muhoozi to file a defense within seven days over allegations of threats and human rights violations linked to Besigye’s ongoing treason-related detention and earlier claims of abduction.

Sseggona, a partner at Lukwago & Co. Advocates, emphasized the legal team’s resolve to enforce court orders, underscoring rising friction between opposition lawyers and powerful military figures within Uganda’s politically charged legal environment.

🚨 The Uganda Police Force has issued a clarification following public concern over earlier social media communication regarding the death of Lubega Fahad.

Police acknowledged that their initial statement contained an unintended misrepresentation suggesting the incident had not occurred. They attributed this to a communication gap in preliminary information received from Kiwatule Police Station and expressed regret for the confusion.

Police confirm the case was formally reported at Kiwatule Police Station under Kira Road Division and is being investigated under CRB 064/2026.

The incident occurred on June 2, 2026, at around 6:30 PM in Kazinga Zone, Kiwatule Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala City.

Preliminary findings indicate that a client searching for rental property on Jiji Uganda contacted Lubega Fahad (30), who allegedly posed as a real estate agent.

The complainant inspected a house in Kyanja and agreed to rent it at UGX 3 million per month. He was then allegedly instructed to pay UGX 12 million (three months’ rent plus deposit) into a DTB bank account registered in Fahad’s name.On June 2 at about 2:00 PM, the payment was made at Metroplex Mall.

However, the caretaker later reportedly confirmed the property was not for rent but was instead for sale. Attempts to recover the money were unsuccessful as the funds had already been withdrawn.

The complainant was advised to report to police and later learned that the suspect had been seen at a bank, where he was apprehended.

It is alleged that the suspect escaped from the bank while under the supervision of a security guard, prompting members of the public to chase and assault him.

Police say that by the time officers arrived, he had already been apprehended and appeared weak, though no visible torture marks were observed.Lubega Fahad was later taken into custody at Kiwatule Police Station, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
