DJ BossMaan MG appointed Executive Director in Office of Presidential Envoy to Middle East & Gulf States

Eng. Mangar Makur Chuot, better known as DJ BossMaan MG, has been appointed Executive Director in the office of the newly appointed Presidential Envoy to the Middle East and Gulf States, Ambassador Monica Achol Aguek.

The appointment comes just days after a broader cabinet reshuffle that saw several new appointments in government ministries. DJ BossMaan formerly known for his music and entertainment career, will now assume a diplomatic-administrative role under the envoy’s office.

Supporters and associates have offered him congratulations, calling the job a “reward for integrity” and a chance to bridge youth, culture and diplomacy in the South Sudanese diaspora.

As Executive Director, BossMaan is expected to coordinate engagements between the envoy’s office and South Sudanese communities, as well as diplomatic partners in the Middle East and Gulf region.

Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco Embaló was arrested by armed men on Wednesday, days after an election in which the main opposition was disqualified. Gunfire was heard in the capital, though the attackers’ identities remain unclear.

Both Embaló and challenger Fernando Dias have claimed victory, while Dias is contesting the results. The electoral commission says final results will be announced by Thursday.

Guinea-Bissau, where turnout topped 65%, has a long history of coups and political instability.
