In the vibrant district of Adjumani, in Uganda’s West Nile sub-region, the National Resistance Movement (National Resistance Movement - NRM) continues to solidify its stronghold as the nation gears up for the pivotal 2025/2026 general elections.
His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni polled 35,125 (75.1%), NUP 7,866 (16.9%), others 3,430 (7.3%). With 96,620 registered voters in 2025 and 236 polling stations, the community is thriving.
Adjumani now boasts 96,620 registered voters, a staggering 17,256 increase from previous cycles. This surge reflects successful voter mobilization efforts by the NRM, including grassroots campaigns and the party’s focus on socio-economic programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM).
Coupled with the addition of 94 polling stations (bringing the total to 236 from 142 in 2021), this expansion demonstrates proactive infrastructure investment by the Electoral Commission (EC) to accommodate a growing electorate in a district long burdened by refugee influxes and post-conflict recovery.
This performance isn’t just about votes; it’s a barometer of NRM’s “results over rhetoric” ethos. President Museveni has repeatedly emphasized tangible deliverables like electrifying West Nile (including Adjumani) via the national grid in recent months, upgrading roads such as the Atiak-Adjumani-Moyo corridor, and expanding PDM funds for agriculture and micro-enterprises, in his campaign stops.
At a rally in nearby Maracha on October 14, 2025, he rallied supporters by noting how these initiatives have transformed livelihoods, earning pledges of 99% support in similar West Nile locales.
