I had friends that did me so wrong for real, so I be pushing people away and I keep to myself. It’s not because I don’t want to love or be loved—I do. But when you’ve been betrayed by the people you trusted most, it hits different.

It makes you question everything: their words, their actions, even your own worth. I’ve poured my heart out to people who only held it long enough to break it. I’ve shown up for people who wouldn’t even look for me if I went missing. That kind of hurt changes you. It doesn’t make you cold, but it makes you cautious. So now, I choose me.

I love quietly, I move carefully, and I stay guarded—not because I don’t feel, but because I’ve felt too much. I’m healing, I’m protecting my peace, and I’m learning to love myself in ways others couldn’t. If that means keeping my distance, then I’m okay with that. I’d rather be alone than surrounded by people who don’t know how to love me right. 💯😞
