Nisha Kalema is an award-winning Ugandan actress, writer, and producer known for her powerful storytelling and versatile talent.
She made her television debut in 2014 with It Can’t Be on WBS TV and quickly rose to fame with her role as Clara in Galz About Town.

Her breakout role came in The Tailor (2015), where her portrayal of Grace earned her the Uganda Film Festival’s Best Actress award. She continued her streak with the film Freedom (2016), which she wrote, and Veronica’s Wish (2018), which she both wrote and produced. Veronica’s Wish was a major success, winning nine awards at the Uganda Film Festival, including Best Feature Film and Best Director.

Her work has been showcased internationally, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and London’s Bernie Grant Arts Centre. Nisha Kalema continues to be a trailblazer in the Ugandan film industry, inspiring a new generation of creatives across Africa.
