Pineapple Bay Resort is a beautiful gem perched on Bulago Island on Lake Victoria. After your safari on any adventurous activity, I highly recommend you to visit it and relax your body.
The team at Uganda Horizon Safaris organized for me to spend my weekend here. On arrival, i was handed a glass of pineapple juice which is special because the name of the resort derived from the fruit. You’ll find lots of them on the island.
I was then offered snacks too and led to my very spacious cottage. Every cottage here is beautiful and has a view of Lake Victoria.
I later had lunch, went for a guided sunset walk in the evening, freshened up and had a sumptuous dinner.

The resort is not so far from the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary which you can do together with visiting the resort.

Established in 1998, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary is home to over 50 chimpanzees who roam freely in a protected forest habitat.
My trip was arranged by Uganda Horizon Safaris & I started off early by being picked up by their driver at 6:00am and heading to Ggaba landing site where I got on to a boat heading to the sanctuary.
I got there on time for the 11:00am feeding session for the chimpanzees and later was given a tour of one of the cottages you can stay at when you visit the island.
I got to see how much food they eat, meet the team who care for them and watch chimpanzee social behavior up close from a viewing platform that overlooks the forest.
They also have a restaurant that prepares mouth-watering meals & a gift shop. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and I can’t wait to visit again.
