We are proud to announce that Akithak has won the award for Best Production Design.

This win means so much to us because every location, costume, prop, and visual detail in the film was carefully created to reflect the reality, culture, and atmosphere of Karamoja. From the villages to the emotional tone of each scene, the goal was always to make the story feel authentic and alive.

Akithak, written and directed by Okello Carlson Edwin, is a Karimojong film that tells the emotional story of a young boy named Lodio searching for his family’s missing goat, while touching on deeper social issues affecting the community.

This award is a celebration of everyone who believed in the vision and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this story to life.
Thank you to the cast, crew, supporters, and everyone who continues to support African storytelling.

Lodio finally comes back home.
Akithak is a Karimojong word meaning "Searching"

"Akithak" is a heartwarming family film centered around a young boy named Lodio who lives in a rural village with his mother, father and their beloved goat, Achia. When Achia goes missing one day, fearing his father's wrath, Lodio sets out on a heart-wrenching quest to find the goat and redeem himself. However upon returning home empty handed, he faces severe punishment and is ultimately cast out by his father.
