*TALENT PROMOTION DECEMBER 2022*

*Introduction*
M-Tech Media is looking forward to establishing a talent based project which will aim at promoting talents of the young people (youth) who are unable to exercise their talents most especially the local artists, drama actors, debaters, etc. In so doing we shall engage young talented youth with popular artists, actors, debaters and sports related activities in order to expose them in the community, nationally or even internationally.
M-Tech Media together with Ogur Youth Development Association and Youth in Line carried out a data assessment in the ten (10) parishes of Ogur sub county which showed numerous results according to the questionnaire which include; limited capital, linkages, promotion, motivation, empowerment, among others.

*Background*
Marzaplus Technology (M-Tech Media) is a business company that basically deals with music and video production. We are located in Ogur corner, Ogur sub county, Lira district.
The company was established in 2018 and it has been able to produce audios such as a good friend by Joshat Marz, Bedo ijoo ber by Lucky Jolly, sweet heart by Lucky Jolly, Teenage pregnancy by Joshua King, Ogur Youth by Emma Ruto, coronavirus by; Holly son, Uncle Jasper, Jalight UG, Better than them by Joshat Marz ft Jalight UG and Morgancee, and Gimoni by Charlie Nafy ft Joshat Marz etc. We were also able to create comedies and music videos which include; ghost love, the bride price, better than them, rainfall kot, etc. All these can be found on our YouTube channel.

To ensure communal togetherness and hard-working to efficiently exploit the available resources to create a better living environment through promotion of youth talents.

Overall goal of the project
The overall goal of this project is to increase the understanding among youth and the community, nurturing and developing talents in Ogur.

M-Tech Media’s Social objectives

M-Tech Media's principal objective is to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular, to enable music-making, video and training opportunities for young people who are socially or financially disadvantaged and lacking in creative opportunities.

Our principles are: accessibility, social inclusion, creative learning, originality, social entrepreneurialism and passion for innovative, high quality artistic work.

Our aim is to nurture and develop musicians and musical projects in Ogur and the surrounding areas.

Our Social Objectives:

Establish a local music industry forum made up of local promoters, funders and arts organizations to discuss issues affecting performance opportunities and audience generation, and carry out ongoing research about the local music industry.

Increasing opportunities: organizing a range of workshops, creative and technical courses and enrichment programs for disadvantaged and fragile young people living in and around.

Improving Access: helping more local young people to develop personal, social and vocational skills through video and music-making, especially those whose access to musical opportunities and/or facilities is limited due to financial disadvantage, disability or rural isolation.

Providing high-quality professional services: providing the highest quality of video and musical experience for young people, in order to encourage enjoyment and further involvement.

Increasing creativity: providing opportunities for young people to create their own music, drama, comedies, and dancing in a supportive and professional environment through youth enrichment programs and funded projects and our association with local organizations and community projects.

Fostering a sense of achievement & self-worth: providing performance and recording opportunities as an integral part of video and music projects aimed at young people, resulting in a tangible product/collective experience.

From the Director, Ogur Youth Development Association

It is hard to imagine a world without the green cover, wetlands encroachment.

It is of great value when wetland is conserved and the green nature as well. In 2018, We carried out an assessment in Ogur sub county and the findings pushed us to come up with this play.

Readers of this script are or can also take part in our findings to enhance the environment through various avenues possible.

Writing this script is one way of creating awareness to the public not only natives of Ogur sub county, but to the globe – about the benefits of environmental conservation. We started as drama which later became interesting to the locals of the Sub county of Ogur.

Taking part in organizing this play as M-Tech Media as also made us to create other videos that are educative i.e. The bride price, Ghost Love among others.

Introduction



The 2018 Data assessment indicated that human practice has led to degradation of environment through various ways for different purposes hence leaving the environment with lots of impacts which includes;

1. Outbreak of diseases due to improper disposal of waste materials such as; pads

2. Reduced amount of rainfall which affects growth of crops, trees, thus leading to low productivity, and hunger resulting to sickness and death.

3. Flooding may occur since wetland acts as breaks and or sponges that holds water and releases it slowly.

4. Soil erosion occurs since trees are cut down.

5. Environmental pollution.

6. Generally, environment is degraded.

In the community, most households still use firewood as cooking method. And this method is causing harm to them according to the findings since it produce a lot of smoke and also difficult to gather. In the process of gathering, they may land on dangerous animals since the forest is a habitat for such animals and insects.
