*BREAKING NEWS: Pastor Joseph Okidi Passes On After a few days of Hospitalization*

Gulu-Uganda. It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Joseph Okidi, a renowned Northern Uganda gospel artist and minister. He died on October 6, 2025, at Kamala International Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment after a motorcycle accident on September 30, 2025

According to reports, Pastor Okidi was involved in the accident while riding his bike back from his farm in Amuru. He sustained numerous injuries and was initially admitted to Lacor Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Gulu. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to Kamala International Hospital in Kampala for further treatment.

Pastor Okidi was a beloved figure in the Ugandan gospel music scene, known for his hit song "Yoo Na Leng". His music ministry touched the lives of many, and his legacy will continue to inspire his fans and followers.

The family, led by his uncle Gwaa Charles, has confirmed his passing and requested that the public await further communication from Kamala International Hospital's management. We join the family and the entire gospel music community in mourning the loss of this gifted servant of God. May Pastor Joseph Okidi's soul rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the love and support of their community during this difficult time.

The police in Lira have arrested a 39-year-old man accused of abusing NRM Presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni in a video that has gone viral on social media platforms.
The suspect, Fred Okuja, a resident of Lira City West Division, was picked up by security operatives on Wednesday afternoon under the Computer Misuse Act. The video, widely circulated on his TikTok and WhatsApp social media pages, allegedly contained hate speech directed at the President not knowing that he was bringing trouble to himself.
In the recording, delivered in both English and Leb Lango, Okuja accused Museveni of being “barbaric” for reportedly blocking Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) leader Jimmy James Michael Akena from contesting in the 2026 presidential elections. Okuja went further, warning of possible violence while drawing comparisons with the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Tentatively, here is the programme as of the communication from the house.
On Monday 06th of October, the body will be removed from the mortuary to her residence in Bajjo,Jomayi Estate, Memory Lane for virgil mass and viewing.
On Tuesday 07th of October, the body will be transported to Oyam District and on 08th 0f October, burial will take place at village in Oyam District.
Communication will be made just incase there is any change but that's how it stands as of now.
For all the well wishers and lovers of the late Teddy Claire Apili, within Kampala, condolences is being handled by AJULU.
