There's a heated debate brewing in Mbarara City amongst artists vying for the title "King of Dancehall in Nkore."
Here a some of the qualities of the dancehall genre:

2. Lyrical themes: Often focus on social issues, partying, love, relationships, and boastful lyrics.
3. Jamaican Patois: Frequently incorporates Jamaican creole language.
4. Toasting: Rapping or MCing over instrumental tracks.
5. Heavy basslines: Prominent basslines that drive the rhythm.
6. Catchy hooks: Memorable melodies and choruses.
7. Dance-oriented: Music designed to get people moving on the dance floor.

These qualities contribute to dancehall's distinctive sound and style. Let's examine the contenders:

1. : As GAMA Association's president, his recent switch from RnB to Afrobeat raises questions about his dancehall claims. Dreadlocks don't make a dancehall artist; captivating stage performance, catchy hooks, and heavy beats do. Back to the studio for authentic dancehall beats and rehearsals!

2. : Your lyrical prowess and catchy hooks have earned a loyal fan base. However, you're comfortable when you haven't reached the top. Enhance lyrical depth, stage presence, musicality, and popularity – market your music!

3. : You excel in other genres, especially sensational songs. Don't claim dancehall credentials without fitting the bill. "Challenge" ft Prince xzit) showed potential, but copying styles won't sustain success. Focus on genres that bring success.
