A new Radio station Situated in Nakapipirit along Amudat Road Opposite Mourita Baraks

Kadam is broadcasting on Frequency 107.6 and will cover the Karamoja Region and the neighboring Districts.

The prime broadcast language will be Akaramojong ' Pokot' Swahili' English 'Ateso and others depending on our coverage.

The core for this eterblishement is to Inform 'Entertainment and Education.

Russia Offers Cuba Digital Sanctions Escape

Russia has offered Cuba assistance in setting up a digital peso-based settlement system for domestic and international transfers to help protect the island nation from external sanctions.

The proposal was discussed in a recent meeting between the Russia-Cuba Business Council and Cuba’s Central Bank in Havana, and will draw on Moscow’s experience in setting up the digital ruble.

"The economy of our partners is in dire need of two things: whitewashing cash flows while improving the convenience of doing business and protecting the financial system from external sanctions. We have proposed a combined tool that, in our opinion, is capable of solving both tasks," explained the Council’s chairman Boris Titov.

KCCA Council turns chaotic over accountability concerns .

The sitting of Authority Council of Kampala today turned chaotic following forceful demand by Councillors for the Technical team to explain the high cost of Road construction in the City.

This followed presentation of a report on Road infrastructure projects by the Executive Secretary of works Hon.Hakim Sawula to Council which indicated the cost of constructing each KM in the City to have been at UGX 10B on average.

The report also indicated that there has been provision for compensation whereas most people have been persuaded to give their land freely to allow for construction of Roads.
The revelations caused Councillors to demand for explanations from technical team who were conspicuously absent from the Council Chambers.

The Councillors resolved to walk and seek for explanation from the Directors in their offices leading to a confrontation with the anti riot Police squads in the corridors of the Authority offices and arrest of three Councillors.

The Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago who was in Masaka High Court to represent legislators Alan Ssewanyana and Muhammed ssegirinya, often queried the cost of Road construction in the City and has since raised the matter with the IGG and Parliament.

Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana bail hearing pushed to February

The hearing of a bail application filed by Makindye West Member of Parliament, Allan Ssewanyana and Kawempe North MP, Muhammad Ssegirinya, failed to kick off today as scheduled.

This is after prosecution led by Richard Birivumbuka informed court that they were not ready to proceed and asked for another date. The trial judge has adjourned the case to 13th and 14th February 2023 for hearing of the said application.

The two are on remand on charges of murder, terrorism, and attempted murder relating to the spate of Machete murders that rocked the Greater Masaka region in 2021.

The group is said to have planned the alleged murders at Happy Boys, Kalenda, and Kayanja Estate House in Kampala.

The legislators are battling capital offences which attract a maximum sentence of death upon conviction.

Masaka High Court sets date to consider MPs bail application

Masaka High Court Judge, Lawrence Tweyanze has scheduled the 13/2/2023 as date in which he will consider the bail application of Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Muhammad Ssegirinya and his Makindye West counterpart Allan Ssewanyana who both face allegations of involvement in machete killings in the greater Masaka region.

Justice Tweyanze also ordered for Hon.Ssewanyana who is currently admitted at Mulago Hospital to be allowed access to specialized treatment following his lawyer's plea for his health to be prioritized.

Earlier the Judge had inquired if the parties were ready to proceed with the trial of the case, to which prosecution stated that it is unable to bear the burden of handling the cases in both Kampala and Masaka involving the same suspects and witnesses at the same time,as such requested to first handle the case before the ICD in Kampala before embarking on the trial of the Masaka cases.

Counsel for the accused Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago described the new prosecution position as very baffling since its against their earlier stance in which they vehemently opposed the his application to join the two files and prosecute them together.

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago who had lined up Hon Kasibante moses, Hon Sewungu Gonzaga,Hon Nyeko Derrick,
Hon. Kayemba solo,
Hon. Patrick Nsanja and Mukyala sendaula(Maama sewa ) mother to Hon.Allan as sureties said that he will proceed to extract orders to enable Hon.Ssewanyana get specialized treatment as they await for the bail application to be considered.
