S.S.T

SST in full was social studies. I don't know if kids in Primary schools are still doing it. This was my most loved subject and the most passed. It is no surprise that i loved history in the upper levels of school and i still do by the way. History is my dose of therapy.

Back then when we were doing SST, it was combined with RE(Religious Education) which comprised of Islam section and Christian section. At our primary school, i don't remember having a teacher who taught us Islam but ofcourse they did of Christian education.

It's in the Christian education classes that they used to narrate to us how Jesus was born of a virgin girl who conceived by the holy spirit. They taught us about angel Gabriel and Jesus' foster father Joseph the carpenter. We learnt quiet alot including the birth and death of Jesus, his ministry on earth and all the miracles.

Above all we learnt that Jesus was killed by his own people. And we learnt about Easter and why Christians celebrate it.
As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus today, it reminds me of those childhood memories where it was all merry and food plus going to church.

May i take the opportunity to wish all Christians a very happy Easter Sunday.
