UPDATE: Another Baby coach bus that left Kampala at 9 pm last night to Arua, rammed into a double Lorry truck at Katugo while trying to overtake and avoid a head-on collision with another incoming truck.

At the reporting of this news, the driver was still stuck in the bus with major injuries as other buses and revellers tried to force the front open.

This is the Third accident from the same bus company in one week. The Yumbe-bound Bus from Kampala with Registration UBB 028S, at Agwok Godown Village along the Pakwach-Nebbi Highway, that resulted from a Mechanical Fault that affected the steering Wheel.

And the other involved bus with registration number UAR 049J, from Paidha to Kampala on Sunday.

UPDATE:Lyon has successfully won their appeal against relegation and will remain in Ligue 1!

The seven-time French champions avoided the drop after the decision was overturned. They will compete in Ligue 1 next season.

The DNCG appeal committee has approved the proposed budget, with restrictions on the wage bill and transfer spending.

Lyon will also be allowed to play in the Europa League.

KENYA: The government has launched a fresh crackdown targeting foreign nationals from Burundi, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Uganda’s Wagisu community residing in West Pokot County, over suspected involvement in cannibalism and human organ harvesting.

Addressing the press on Tuesday afternoon, West Pokot County Commissioner Khalif Abdullahi said the decision was arrived at following a security committee meeting held in the county after 13 suspects were arrested in connection with eating corpses and organ harvesting in West Pokot.

The County Commissioner revealed that prime suspects, who reportedly confessed to killing and consuming corpses, had been living illegally along a road reserve in Bendera.

He therefore committed to ensure the land would be reclaimed back to the government immediately.

UPDATE: A court in Kampala has ordered a doctor to pay a fine of 4 million shillings for forging hospital documents to help a suspect get bail.

The court stated that Segujja forged medical documents to assist his friend, David Balondemu, in securing court bail.

Justice Minister Norbert Mao has directed the Electoral Commission not to release any funds to political parties until further notice.

This follows the new Political Parties and Organisations (Amendment) Act, which allows funding only to parties that are members of the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD).

Mao is consulting stakeholders and expects the process, including necessary legal steps, to be completed within three weeks.

A Baby Coach bus traveling from Kampala to Arua experienced a single-vehicle road traffic crash in Vulu Vulu village, Ulagu Parish, Padwot Sub-County, Nebbi District.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the early morning hours when the bus veered off the roadway and came to rest on its side.

The LCIII chairperson of Padwot Sub-County, Denis Opio, confirmed the crash, stating that "no fatalities were reported, but several passengers sustained injuries and were promptly transported to nearby health facilities for treatment."

The Uganda Police Force has yet to issue an official statement regarding the crash, and investigations into the cause are ongoing.
