🎶 The new CD “Between Home And Heaven” is almost here!! 🎶 One of the gems on this album is my personal tribute to the late, great Carl Sauceman, who was probably the single most influential pioneer of Blue Grass music in this area of Mississippi. “River Of Love” was written by Johnnie Masters of the Masters Family and was performed by Carl Sauceman & The Green Valley Boys for Smilin’ Eddie Hill’s television program, Country Junction on WLAC-TV in Nashville in August of 1962. That recording particularly featured Carl’s polished and charismatic lead vocal and Jim Brock’s dynamic fiddling. To record this song as a tribute, I knew it would need a very capable and disciplined fiddler, but imagine my astonishment when Corrina Rose Logston Stephens perfectly recreated each of Jim’s fiddle breaks note for note! It’s definitely one of my favorite songs on the album.
