Feeding the new bottle calf when last year’s bottle baby suddenly remembered two very important things:

1. Bottles exist.
2. Apparently I’m still his mother. 😂🐮🍼

Cue the yearling-sized toddler tantrum because SOMEONE ELSE is getting the milk he hasn’t needed in months.

The jealousy. The betrayal. The absolute injustice.

Farm life is basically just managing tantrums in progressively larger animals. 😂

Georgie has officially decided he has had enough of fair week. 😂🐑

Unfortunately for us, it didn’t take him long to figure out how to unlatch his own stall gate… so apparently he’s also decided checkout time is whenever he says it is.

He’s been shown. He’s taken approximately 400 selfies. He’s met half the county.

Georgie is ready to go HOME. 😂

Because apparently today wasn’t chaotic enough. 🙃

Luke took one look at the schedule and said, “You know what would really help? If I threw myself directly into a sticker bush.” 🐶🌿

So now, in addition to the approximately 47 other things that need done, we’ve added de-burr the farm supervisor to the list.

His contribution to today’s productivity has been noted.

What a way to end fair week. ❤️

Elena has worked so hard with Georgie—feeding him, caring for him, practicing with him, and putting in countless hours to get him ready for the fair. Today, all of that hard work led to the auction ring.

We are incredibly grateful to Bowman Milling-Advance for purchasing Georgie at the livestock auction and then giving him right back to Elena. 🐑❤️

One of the things that makes our county fair so special is seeing our community show up for these kids. When local businesses support young exhibitors, they’re supporting so much more than an animal at an auction—they’re encouraging responsibility, hard work, agriculture, and kids who have poured their hearts into their projects.

Thank you, Bowman Milling, for supporting Elena and making the end of her fair week one she’ll never forget. It means more to our family than you know. ❤️

And after a week of showing, meeting approximately half the county, and taking more selfies than most celebrities… Georgie gets to come home. 😂🐑❤️

So proud of this girl. She had some big competition and she gave it her absolute best. Even though he was super interested in the shiny belt buckle and pearl snaps, Georgie handled perfectly!

🐑 It’s Fair Week for Elena & Georgie!

After months of feeding, caring for, practicing, and getting ready, Elena and Georgie are headed to the Stoddard County Fair!

This week Elena will get the chance to take Georgie into the show ring and show off all the work she’s put into her market sheep project. She’s learned a lot along the way—and Georgie has definitely become a pretty well-known member of the family and community. ❤️

Then on Saturday morning, September 26, Elena’s project comes full circle when Georgie goes through the livestock auction.

If you’re a local business owner, banker, insurance agent, farmer, or community member who enjoys supporting our local kids, we’d love to see you at the auction. We’re also looking for potential buyers interested in supporting Elena by bidding on Georgie.

And even if you’re not looking to buy, come out to the fair, cheer these kids on, and see what they’ve worked so hard on!

Good luck, Elena & Georgie! 🐑🍀

Farm life according to a toddler: if you find a tiny chicken, you MUST immediately bring it to Mom for inspection. 🐥😂

She was very proud of her little feathered discovery—and apparently I needed to see it from approximately six inches away.

Went to check on the girls while they’re on their matchmaking hiatus. One “c’mon” and they come a running! Mr. Hashtag wanted scratches with his hello. Isn’t he handsome?
