This Thursday I’ll be having a hysterectomy as the next step in my healing journey.

With my BRCA2 mutation and a recent adenomyosis diagnosis, my treatment team and I feel like now is the right time. I’ll be keeping my ovaries, but my fallopian tubes are coming out since newer research shows many ovarian cancers actually start there. My ovaries will come later.

Life is lifing these day. We also had to move out of our house because of major water leak…which we found out the same day Phil’s scans came back clear. 🙌 I’ll take the clear scans! Rooming with my parents for the foreseeable future.

It’s been a lot lately, but we’re taking it one day at a time and focusing on the good. I’m incredibly grateful for all the love, prayers, and support. Xoxo 💋

Turning up the heat this summer, and my lymphedema is definitely feeling it.

The lymphedema struggle is real, physically and mentally. I get really self-conscious about it and sleeves aren’t an option in this heat and Darlene is Darleneing these days (iykyk). 🥵

To all my fellow lymphies, I see you. Grateful to be alive, but the lymphedema struggle is real. 💕

Phil and I are incredibly honored to be the MCs of the Butterfly Gala this year. 🦋

As many of you know, Phil was diagnosed with testicular cancer this year, and once again we’ve felt the incredible support from Stewart’s. This mission hits very close to home for our family. 💗
