About half the world's rangelands are degraded, and hardly anybody studies them. Dr. Leigh Winowiecki does.

She leads soil and land health research at Landscape Alliance | CIFOR & ICRAF in Nairobi, co-leads the Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH), and has measured soil in more than forty countries.

KTLA host Alan Hitchcock runs cattle in North Florida. He and Dr. Winowiecki talked about grass, water, and how you actually know whether a piece of ground is getting better.

We're editing this podcast episode and are eager for you to hear it. She's just one of the many quality guests we're lining up for this series!

Our first episode, featuring the incredible Dr. Temple Grandin as our special guest, is in editing now and we can't wait for you to hear it.

As Dr. Grandin puts it, agritourism helps farms stay in business AND educates the public about where their food comes from. That's exactly the kind of conversation this podcast was built for.

Follow this page so you don't miss the launch. It's coming soon!

Presented in partnership with Visit Florida Farms- FL Agritourism Association.

On May 25th, the Florida Visit Florida Farms- FL Agritourism Association is hosting a live Zoom webinar featuring Dr. Temple Grandin in conversation with Alan Hitchcock, former owner of Hitchcock's Markets, a beloved fixture in North Central Florida's rural communities for decades. Alan has deep roots in local food systems and land stewardship, and the conversation will explore what it means to keep working land alive and connected to the people around it.

It's a free event, open to anyone, and we think it would resonate with folks in agriculture, local food, and rural community work.

We hope you can join us!

"Little guys innovate, big guys copy."

That's Dr. Temple Grandin on a pattern she's watched in agriculture for decades. Twenty years ago, big poultry laughed at probiotics for chickens. Today they're trade-show banners. She thinks regenerative ag is next.

Join us live to talk about it: Monday, May 25 at 4pm ET. On Zoom: your questions, real conversation about what's working on small farms.
