INTRODUCTION>
Motherland Nepal is a non-profit organization (501C) based in San
Francisco Bay Area. It was established in 2002. Our organization has
been vigorously working to facilitate for the integration of Nepalese
immigrants, refugees, students and scholars. It has been assisting
people to acculturate American Culture standing on its own
socio-cultural norms and values, which will eventually unite all
strata
of Nepalese Americans in SF Bay Area.

Nepalese people are crawling in America since their migration in the
US
is relatively recent and thinly populated as comparison to its
neighboring countries, India and China. Evidence shows that the
Nepalese
migration in the US was started in 20th century. The population of
Nepalese people on the US soil grew significantly during 2000s. The
rough estimate of Nepalese people in SF Bay Area is above 8.000 to 10,000
Their
contribution to this land counted Nepalese people as hardworking,
honest, helpful and skillful.

ACTVITIES

Motherland Nepal has been connecting Nepalese people around Bay Area
through broadcasting latest news about our activities on our You tube
NEWS Channel as well as on our organization’s website. It frequently

hosts meeting and cultural events in the San Francisco and Bay Area to

unite people by celebrating diversity. It also conducts social,
cultural, spiritual and other extra-curricular activities including
feast and festivals, which gives a flavor of Nepalese tradition in
this
great diverse land. It hosts a peace rally on Nepal Day to show its
national identity among people. It has established social and cultural

exchange using media forum, education and community development
activities along with cultural performance made a milestone
contribution
among Nepalese in Bay Area.

OBJECTIVES

Install a Nepalese CULTURAL Center (CC) with IT facilities.
A Grief Center (Mourning or Meditation??) will be formed in CC: It
will
provide a platform to the people who lost their loved one to perform
death rituals based on Nepalese tradition. Buddhists will have a place

for their meditation and ritual practice.
CC will be a common platform for all Nepalese.
It helps to unite all people.
This platform will help to contribute for the betterment of our
community and assist voluntarily to their community where they dwell.

NEED OF CULTURAL CENTER

CC is an urgent need for Nepalese since we don’t have any platform
in
this area. For cultural transformation to next generation and social
contribution to the community, CC will play a vital role. It will
prosper our socio-cultural belief, and it becomes a stage to tie
diverse
people.

The people, who have various nationalities, have their own center or
building in Bay Area. We do not have any. It is extremely important
and
urgently required to conduct various activities, which would be
beneficial to the Nepalese and even entire Bay Area’s community.
CULTURAL CENTER
has
been a long awaited dream of Nepalese people of Bay Area.

CULTURAL CENTER will be a place where all Nepalese can gather and celebrate our
festivals. It will be a place, which can give a glimpse of mini Nepal
and bring happiness on their faces. Musical performance, artistic
shows,
talks from spiritual leaders, and all stakeholders will get a place in

Bay Area, and CC will quench that thirst. Many upbringing ceremonies
can be performed, such as naming ceremony, rice feeding, initiation,
marriage and death rituals, when a person need a place, no matter for
any ritual or task, CC will be there.

Thank you

to build #cultural center in east bay Nepalese At Bayarea CA
Why do we need cultural center ?
As from the people of cultural diversification, about 6ooo to 8000 #American nepalease and other non nepalese but belive in our cultural people living Bay Area critically need of Grief Center to practice our cultural and religious norms and values.
The grief center is basically focused on the center for the family and relatives whose family member is passed away. In Hindu culture, the death body is cremated with the presence of the priest, family member of the dead person have to stay in grief for thirteen days. During this period sons of the demised person need to bald his head, can wear only a piece of white cloth, can have only one meal without salt per day for thirteen days, the person in grief can't touch any one outsiders.

Establish a Culture Center

This is the 1st stage of our crowed funding.
After this we will also have two more crowed funding and we have applied for two grants as well.
If everything goes as expected we will have enough money (around $400,000 -to $500,000) to get our cultural center in East Bay. Thank you.

Cultural Center for the American Nepali

The Nepali of the San Francisco Bay area have an urgent need for a Cultural Center. The Center would provide every part of the Community-Nepali, many of whom have limited income, with a myriad of vital resources: education and college prep counseling for students; economic development- employment training, and help to spawn micro-business with business plans and financing (recently a meeting was held with a major area bank, Restaurant); a place to enrich them with a cultural display. Examples of planned outreach include providing hot meals to the senior homeless, and English language classes for new Nepali immigrants. Thus the Center would be the central place for socialization-making friends and contacts- and a means of keeping the rich Nepali culture alive through the new generations.https://www.gofundme.com/2ftrfdvf
