I know it’s been awhile so, I want to take this opportunity to share this incredible project that I’ve been invited to be apart of.

Just over a month ago I flew to New Mexico to meet my talented and passionate team at Project ECHO and then a road trip to Gallup, NM to produce a story on the dedicated doctors that treat patients from the Navajo Nation reservation. This and other stories that I’m currently working on with Project ECHO are a dream come true.

The ECHO Model of Move Knowledge, Not People connects doctors, educators, and soon journalist from all over the world in a mentoring network that facilitates the sharing of knowledge, practices and treatments that are (generally) not readily available in underserved rural areas.

You can’t take it with you. Years of education and experience is worthless once your dead so, share your knowledge, be a mentor, and help change lives for the greater good. ECHO’s goal is to reach a billion people by 2025, and we’re well on our way. I’m extremely proud to be part of the communications team in charge of promoting this mission.

Currently I’m working with a brilliant team in India to produce the story of how ECHO, along with the Indian government is changing how teachers teach and other education practices across the continent. But for now, please enjoy the short film above. 🙏🏼

If you’re an educator, physician, journalist, civics leader, police officer, or even a prisoner and interested in joining an ECHO Session, or if you see a gap and a need for change in your profession, you can learn how to your lead own network of colleagues in an ECHO Session. *Warning* This video could be traumatizing for someone who has been through a violent event including gunfire and death. Yesterdays active shooter training exercise became very real once the gunman ran into the cafeteria at Mills High School in Millbrae, California and began firing off rounds at police officers. San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and about 150 officers and firefighters from around the bay area took part in this weeks training to help better prepare themselves and look for inefficiencies in the way they respond to active shooter events. It's so sad that this is what we need to be ready for these days.

BYOC? Would you be willing to add .25 to your already $5 latte just so you can walk away with a disposable cup? San Francisco, California Supervisor Aaron Peskin has proposed adding the tax to a cup of joe to minimize waste by incouraging people to bring their own cups. Some businesses already offer a small discount. Yesterday we went to talk to coffee drinkers and the owner of Castro Coffee Company to see what they think. Good idea or bad?

I thought it would be fun to share the uncut version of Dave Chappelle speaking on the steps of San Francisco City Hall to keep Punch Line San Francisco comedy club from being evicted. His shout out to YouTube is hilarious. Enjoy!

So close, yet so far. I was told today I was going to interview Dave Chappelle before his show last night. YEEEAAH! Long story short, no Dave and no show. My collegue was able to meet Dave, W. Kamau Bell and many other comedians on the steps of San Francisco City Hall as they protested the eviction of Punch Line San Francisco Comedy Club in San Francisco, California by property owner Morgan Stanley, to make room for Google to take over the building where the historic comedy landmark is located by August.

Punch Line has been a favorite spot for most major comedians for over 40 year, including Dave Chappelle, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Schumer, Aziz Ansari and Hasan Minhaj.

Chappelle said, "Any storied comedian will tell you it's an American phenomenon. When they say special things happen there, it's an understatement. It's one of the best comedy rooms literally on Earth -- you should protect it."

Do not drive through flooded streets. I watched car after car get stuck in high waters today. My job was to stick with the Sonoma Sheriff and keep up with updates on rescue efforts and flood levels. This is the Santa Rosa Creek in east Sonoma County.
