Movie Review: Terminator: Dark Fate

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna and Natalia Reyes Directed by Tim Miller (Based on Characters created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd) RATED R My Rating: 4.5/5 “Terminator: Dark Fate” is the latest film in the “Terminator” franchise, and the sixth film overall. While not the best entry in the series, it is a marked improvement over some of the previous installments and the closest in style and tone to the original 1984 entry and the smash hit 1991 sequel “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” [ 451 more words ]

Harvest Therapy

As the multicolored leaves gracefully fall to the Earth’s soft ground, the smell of the post-rain from this year’s early fall season is too much to resist. The crisp air follows Mirium Edell out to Linn Benton’s on-campus community garden as she harvests fresh produce from the carefully groomed crops. Starting as a gardening club for veterans made by veterans, The Veterans Gardening Club is struggling to keep its doors open. [ 377 more words ]

Global Plastic Pollution Is A Problem That Can Only Be Solved On An Individual Basis

A gritty dust clings to the air, and glass shards on the concrete crunch under your feet as you walk through the dimly lit warehouse that holds the majority of Marion County’s recycling. Sunlight beams through a large doorway at the end of the building, and a large front-end loader comes into view carrying a pile of recycling that’s about to be sorted. [ 1,675 more word ]

LB’s “Brown Girls Pride” Art Reception Features Mexican-American Artists

A sense of community is important at LBCC. Strong communities involve people with different cultural, gender, or economic statuses accepting and celebrating one another. The first Brown Girls Pride reception, which was held May 22 from 5 to 6 p.m., is one such illustration. Hosted by art instructor Anne Magratten, the reception was a two-way celebration highlighting women and being Mexican. [ 251 more words ]

Review: “Our Planet” Depicts The Harsh Realities Of Humanity’s Impact On Climate Change

The soothing, melodic, and familiar British voice of David Attenborough may give you the false pretense that the Netflix Original series “Our Planet” will show you beautiful pictures of the natural world, similar to his other shows, “Planet Earth” and “Blue Planet.” You are mistaken. While the nature documentary does show you the pristine and awe-provoking world of the natural ecosystem, it accompanies those images with the jarring reality of climate change. [ 527 more words ]

Review: “John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum” Is The Strongest Film Yet In The Fantastic Action Franchise

“John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum” is the third installment in the “John Wick” series. While the films have been making their mark on the action genre since they first began in 2014, this latest installment is not only the best entry in the series so far; but easily one of the best action films in recent years. The film takes place after the events of 2017’s “John Wick: Chapter 2.” Wick (Keanu Reeves) has been declared “excommunicado” by a mysterious group of assassins known as the “High Table” with a $14 million bounty placed on his head.
