Area Education Leaders Unite to Explore Sustainable School Funding Solutions

David Novy, District Administrator for the Brodhead School District, joined school superintendents, business administrators, school board members, and community leaders from 13 southern Wisconsin school districts at Monroe High School this week to continue discussions about Wisconsin’s public school funding system.

The group is focused on finding sustainable, adequate, equitable, and responsible solutions - solutions that provide schools with the resources needed to educate students effectively without simply placing additional financial burdens on local property taxpayers.

This group will continue meeting in the coming months to explore potential solutions and engage with policymakers, political candidates, business leaders, and community members about the future of public education in Wisconsin.

A big thank-you to the Albany Lions Club and our generous Albany community for making school supplies available to families who may need help getting ready for the school year.

Families in need of school supplies can stop by the Albany School District Office Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Supplies will also be available during our Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, August 26, from 5:00–7:00 p.m.

Thank you for helping make sure every Albany student has the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn!
