I've been absolutely overwhelmed by the comments & emails I've received today! 🥹
As many of you know, I have decided to leave News10, and yesterday was my last day at the station!
I started as a 21-year-old intern working part-time while getting my master's. I had no prior on-air experience, and yet the station decided to take a chance on me. A chance I was so grateful for.
To my "weather family," Rob Lindenmuth, Meteorologist Kevin Appleby, Matt Mackie, Alyssa Caroprese, and of course, Steve Caporizzo. You taught me everything about forecasting and trained me through all the methods we have that make us the most accurate in the Capital Region. I'm grateful for all the laughs & support we've given each other during both the good stretches and the tough ones.
It's so important to have a team you can count on, and I am lucky to have been part of the best one ever.
To the viewers who watched and supported me, I cannot thank you all enough. You trusted a girl (who spoke too fast, and probably still does...😂) to deliver your forecast every weekend night, and I am honored to have been your weekend meteorologist. 🩷
To Tommy Valentine and Vanessa Blasi, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for giving me the best send-off I could have asked for. Not only was I showered in gifts, but Tommy spent (probably too much time 🤣) putting together this "highlight reel" of my favorite on-air moments I will cherish for a long time.
When I took this job, I knew it would be exciting, but I would have never guessed to meet my incredible boyfriend and one of my best friends in the process.
Vanessa & Tommy, you are BOTH the main reasons I looked forward to working the weekends. I'm so proud to say I shared the desk with the BEST team and will miss our on-camera chemistry. 💙
As I watched this amazing video, I couldn't believe how much I have grown in such a short time...
This job has made me more fearless and confident than I've ever been, and now, I'll take that with me as I try to navigate the next steps of my career.
Although I loved forecasting, it's not the job I'll miss as much as the people, of course. 😉
