Almyrk Republic, Skjult - A Gojyrian expeditionary force found itself in intense skirmishes with Almyrk paratroopers this July north of the Chimeran mountain range. Gojyria’s battle group Spade was under orders to conduct a route clearance operation in Battle Sector 419, but found entrenched saboteurs from the Almyrk airborne commando task group (ACTG) 16. Advancing through the Almyrk mortars and heavy machine gun fire, the King’s army was able to secure the main supply route through the sector and establish positions at key infrastructure on the route.
Despite lacking the manpower to prevent Gojyrian control of the road or dislodge all positions, the Almyrk commandoes established a tempo of spoiling attacks. Through a combination of hit and run tactics and massed assaults, Gojyrian occupation of the entire sector beyond the road was made untenable. However, without a safe path the armor support the Republic’s forces were counting on the turn the tide of the battle could not arrive safely. Despite attempts to cut off Gojyrian reinforcements and provide an opening, the King’s army was able to keep Almyrk armor at bay and maintain their control of the MSR, albeit at heavy cost.
Even now with the heaviest fighting over, Gojyrian supply shipments are still being occasionally waylaid by Almyrk saboteurs operating from the thick woods and marshy bogs of Sector 419. Yet the Gojyrian army holds the line awaiting reinforcements to attempt further assaults and anticipating an inevitable Almyrk counter-attack.
Now both sides turn their attention to the comms infrastructure at Cado in order to support offensive actions deeper into Sector 419 and beyond.
