2024 Cosplay Recap! What's your New Year's resolution? ✨️
👗: Alice (Alice in Wonderland)
📸:
Last year my resolution was just to get through 2024, and it was rough 😅 but here I am!
In 2025 I'd like to:
Travel to a place I've never been before.
Make two new cosplays.
Go to one out of state con.
Present a cosplay panel.
See friends more often.
And focus on cosplay again 💖
This year I made 10 IG posts, next year I want to make at least 30 ✨
As I reflect on this past year, it's easy to compare myself to other cosplayers and feel like I didn't do enough. I didn't really make any new cosplays, didn't go to a bunch of cons, didn't guest anywhere, and really fell off the bandwagon in terms of posting 💀 (only 10 posts this year). BUT a lot happened this year so I'm giving myself grace, not every year can be high performing, and sometimes your 100% can be just getting through the year.
All that said, here's a list of things that made me happy this year:
• A cosplay picture of me was shown in an art gallery! Thank you
• and and their photoshoot meetups, it's so nice to have an excuse to get dressed up and amazing to be around so many creative people, I've met so many wonderful people through these meets and gotten so many amazing photos.
• Got to visit a long distance friend and fellow cosplayer .thisisme2
• Presented FOUR cosplay panels at Galaxy Con in CA
• Created a new cosplay panel (on the plane ride over 🙈)
• I felt like I didn't do a lot of photoshoots, but I did NINE! Not all of them were cosplay so maybe that's why it feels like less
• Wore 12 different cosplays
• Put together 2 new cosplays
• Attended 2 conventions
• Saw my favorite band in concert
• Was able to travel for work, family, and fun ✈️
It's easy for me to remember the bad things, because those are what effected me the most at the time, but looking back on it, I think it's the little joys everyday and across the year that had the most lasting impact on me. Those are what I'd like to remember.
I wish all of you a wonderful new year 💖
