This fight started with expansion… and it could reshape the Lobos’ future.

👉 Pac-12 added 5 Mountain West schools
👉 MWC responded with a $55M “poaching penalty”
👉 Now both sides are in federal court

If the MWC WINS:
✅ $55M penalties stand
✅ Conference gains leverage + stability
✅ UNM stays in a stronger Mountain West with more security

If the Pac-12 WINS:
❌ Penalties vanish
❌ Expansion speeds up
❌ UNM could be forced into a situation where leaving the MWC ASAP becomes our best option to survive & thrive

🚨 PACK THE HOUSE: 25K+ NEXT HOME GAME 🚨

and fought hard this weekend and came out with the W. 💪🐺

Yes, there were struggles, because no win is ever easy, but we got it done. Big shoutout to the 17,638 strong who packed University Stadium (and yes, I count myself as that extra one 😉).

Now it’s time to turn the page 👉 Friday night vs. UCLA, and then after our bye week, back home for the one we’ve all been waiting for… NMSU 🤮

Lobo Nation, let’s keep this energy rolling. Let’s push for 25K–30K in the stands next home game (maybe even try for the sell out 😅). Fill every seat. Be loud. Be proud.

❤️ Since stepping in, AD Fernando Lovo has been nothing short of a blessing for New Mexico. He didn’t just accept the job, he embraced the challenge of rebuilding Lobo Athletics from the ground up.

✅ Hired Coach Eck, one of the best football hires in school history.
✅ Went to Santa Fe and got the NM Congress to invest in UNM Athletics for the first time in decades.
✅ Brought in a new MBB coach in Coach Olen who’s already building a powerhouse team.
✅ Created energy & fun around UNM Athletics, from viral national skits 🎥 to initiatives that are going to be filling the stands 🏟️.

But most importantly… he’s preparing UNM for the future. 🌄 He’s said it himself: this program will be ready for the 2030 conference realignment era. With his Texas ties, Big 12 connections, and fearless vision, if anyone can get UNM to the P4 level, it’s AD Lovo. 🐺🔥

He’s jumped in headfirst, and he’s already making UNM a brand people respect again. This is leadership. This is vision. This is Lobo Nation rising.
