Knox County’s rate for new COVID-19 cases was 138 per 100,000 residents for the week ending Aug. 7. That's well above the state’s benchmark of 50 new cases per 100,000.

COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Knox County. There were 80 new cases of the virus confirmed between Aug. 10 and Monday, according to the Knox County Health Department.

City Manager Todd Thompson said they have had issues with vehicles and juveniles in the cemeteries after hours who did not have good reason to be there.

Galesburg's City Council will weigh an ordinance Monday that would establish official hours for Linwood and East Linwood Cemetery, and for the scattering gardens.
