Solo hike to Mary’s Rock on the Appalachian Trail in Shenandoah.

Some days you need the noise to fall behind you. No crowds. No rush. Just boots on dirt, rocks underfoot, green everywhere, and that mountain air reminding you to breathe again.

Mary’s Rock gave me the climb, the views, the quiet, and even a little ladybug blessing along the way. 🐞⛰️

This is why I keep coming back to the trail. Every step clears something. Every view gives something back.

Sometimes the best hikes aren’t the epic mountain climbs. Sometimes it’s a quiet Sunday morning at Burke Lake Park with the sun cutting through the trees, kids laughing in the distance, ducks cruising the water like they own the place, and the trail reminding you to slow down for a minute. ☀️🦆🌲

Just a peaceful walk, good energy, and a little nature therapy before the week begins.

Bear’s Den gave me exactly what I needed: a quiet solo backpacking trip tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains.

A few weeks back, the weather was nice, the trail was peaceful, and I got to spend some real time alone with my thoughts, my gear, and the kind of silence only the mountains know how to hold.

This is just a small taste. The long-form version is coming soon on YouTube.

Subscribe to Hiking with the Bear on YouTube and come walk this one with me. 🐻⛰️

So many memories this year.
Training hikes. Snow-covered trails. Steep mountain climbs.
Early mornings, tired legs, and purpose in every mile.

Every hike before Kilimanjaro mattered.
Every step was preparation.
Standing on Kilimanjaro with an incredible team beside me is something I’ll carry forever.

To everyone who came out, showed up, and put boots on the ground with me on these hikes… thank you. Community turned miles into memories.

Deep gratitude to Soraka Tours for hosting us and guiding the climb.
And a huge thank you to the porters who made it all possible. Your strength, care, and hard work carried more than gear. You carried the climb.

This is the first half of 2025, up to July.
Up to Kilimanjaro.
An amazing year so far… and the journey continues.

Enjoy the recap.
Push to Inspire. 🏔️🐻
