⚠️ Dense Fog Advisory this morning
Dense fog is impacting Central Louisiana early today, with visibility dropping below ¼ mile in spots. Fog may be especially thick along highways, rural roads, and near waterways.

Fog will lift by mid-morning, giving way to warm and mostly dry conditions. Highs will reach the upper 70s to near 80°, well above average for late December. Skies stay partly cloudy with light south to southwest winds.

🚨 BREAKING: Fatal Crash in St. James Parish 🚨

Four people were killed and two others were injured in a crash early Christmas morning on LA 641 near Gramercy.

Louisiana State Police say the two-vehicle collision happened around 3:45 a.m. and is under investigation.

Family reports death of Roger Thomas, 39, at Winnfield Housing Authority apartments

Winnfield, La. (12/23/2025) — The family of Roger Thomas, 39, reports that he was killed at the Winnfield Housing Authority’s Henderson Apartments in Winnfield, Louisiana.

According to a family member, Roger Thomas was discovered around 11:00 a.m. on December 22, 2025, after being found by a tenant. The family did not provide specific details about the exact location or circumstances surrounding where he was found.

Family members believe Roger’s death may have involved gunfire. This information has not been confirmed by law enforcement at this time.

UrbanCast contacted the Winnfield Police Department and was informed that Lt. Glenn has been assigned to the case. The Winnfield Police Department can be reached at (318) 628-3511.

The family is asking anyone with information related to Roger Thomas’ death to contact the Winnfield Police Department directly.

Family members say Roger Thomas was well known in the Winnfield community and described him as someone who was always willing to help others, often giving what he had to those in need.
