Not everyone will understand this kind of decision.

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Not just when life makes sense.
Not just when we feel strong.
Not just when everything is going right.

But right in the middle of it…in the pain, in the chaos, in the sickness.

Today, we cried.
We held each other.
And we prayed… because the weight of everything felt extremely heavy.
We’ve been carrying so much for almost two years now.

Things haven’t been easy for us.
But we’ve seen what happens when God is at the center.

Peace shows up differently.
Love holds on differently… because Christ is the One holding it together.
He keeps reminding us we don’t have to carry it all on our own.

So no, we’re not perfect.

But this right here?

This is a decision we keep choosing… again and again.

If you’re carrying a lot in your heart right now,
I pray God meets you in a real, tangible way today.
He sees you. He cares. He’s near.

And if this speaks to you…don’t keep it to yourself. Share it with someone who might need it too 🤍🙏

You don’t really feel it… until it happens to you.

That day, on our wedding day, we were dancing, laughing, holding onto each other like that was enough.

And in a way… it was.

We loved God. We trusted Him for our life. We knew He would be there.

We just didn’t know what that would actually look like.

We didn’t know how life would stretch us.
We didn’t know the moments that would test us.
We didn’t know how much we would need Him… not just in the good, but in everything.

Looking back now, I see it differently.

God wasn’t just there in the joy…
He was already there in everything that came after.

God is so faithful.

So if life doesn’t look the way you thought it would by now…

He’s still there too.

🤍

Lord, protect every couple reading this.

When life gets busy, remind them to choose each other.
When they’re tired, teach them patience.
When they’re hurt, help them forgive quickly.

Keep them close to You so they don’t drift from each other.
Teach them to love like Christ selflessly, faithfully, and with grace.

Guard their home from anything that tries to divide them.

Help them build a love that lasts...not perfect, but rooted in You.

Amen. 🙏

Everyone notices what looks strong.

We saw this bear at the museum and of course it catches your eye. It’s big, it’s impressive, it stands out.

But real life isn’t like that.

What keeps a family strong is usually the part no one sees.

It’s the small things like being patient when we’re tired, staying strong together even when life gets tough, and choosing God even on the normal days.

As a multicultural family raising our daughter here in the U.S., I personally think a lot about what she will grow up believing is “strength.”

“For me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

That’s what we’re trying to build, day by day.

Unpopular opinion: a happy picture doesn’t mean a strong relationship.

This moment is real. The joy is real.
But what keeps us steady isn’t what you see here.

It’s God.

That verse behind us says, “I am with you always.”
That’s the part people don’t always think about.

Because it’s easy to want the love, the happy family, the joy and peace…but not the foundation that actually holds it all together.

We didn’t build this on feelings. We built it on God.

So whether you’re single or with someone… we encourage you not to skip that part.

Because what you build on will show up later—
in ways you can’t fake.

We all started like this… think about it.

Every single person you know; every successful one, every talented one, every person doing well in life… they were all once a baby too.

But so were the ones who ended up lost, the ones who battle addiction, the ones who hurt others, and the ones who hurt others in ways that can’t be undone.

Same beginning… but not the same ending.

And that makes me realize even more how big of a responsibility I have as a parent....as a mom.

When I look at my daughter, I am very much aware this stage is not just “cute.” It is shaping who she will become: the environment she is in, the love she gets, the guidance, the boundaries.

The people our kids grow up around, the things they’re exposed to…these all matter. That is a huge deal.

So today, I just pray because I know I don't have full control of any of that even if I want to. If you will, join me and pray this prayer top.

Dear God, protect our children.
Protect their minds, their hearts, and the people they will meet.
Guard them from influences that could lead them down the wrong path.
Give us wisdom as parents even in the small, everyday decisions.

Help us raise them with love, but also with truth, direction, and discernment.

Because one day… our little baby will become someone in the world.

We need you 🙏

In Jesus's name I pray...amen!!!!

Some of you are carrying battles nobody around you can see… smiling outside while fighting silently inside. ❤️🙏

Bills, stress, anxiety, parenting, marriage struggles, loss, fear of the future… life can feel difficult sometimes. But God never promised we would walk through it alone. He promised that His presence would go with us wherever we go.

Keep fighting. Keep praying. Keep believing. The same God who carried us through our darkest days is still holding your hand today.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

If you’re reading this, this is your reminder: You are not walking alone today. God Bless you and your family. We shared this message more than once, but we feel called to reshare it again to bless more people.

We refuse to let our cultures disappear.

This picture was taken in Madagascar before we became parents.

I can make an entire post about marrying someone from another country, but long story short, if you’re not intentional, one culture can slowly fade away.

So we made a decision together that

1. We will learn each other’s language (Malagasy, Spanish and English), the culture, the values, the way we were raised...not just the food.

2. We will make sure that our mixed daughter knows where she comes from.

Because we think identity doesn’t just happen; it should be taught and lived.

And above all, we share the culture that holds everything together: our faith.

This is more than a love story.
It’s legacy.

🙏 God, help us protect what matters, pass it on with love, and raise our child with strong roots and a strong identity. Guide every parent reading this as they do the same. Amen..

Unpopular opinion: you don’t have to buy everything for your kids.

We went to Target, picked a book, and I read it to her right there in the stroller… then we put it back. She even explored a few on her own.

And honestly? That was enough in that very moment.

Because not every Target run has to end with something in your cart.

Not every moment has to cost money.

We’re learning to be wise with what we have, especially now that we are going through a very tough season of unemployment and health challenges.

And I’m realizing… moments like this matter more than anything we could buy.

I thank the Lord for simple moments like this 🙏

If you’re a mom in the U.S. trying to budget, use the library, or just do your best without buying everything… you’re not alone.

Save this as a reminder 🤍 or share it with a mom or a parent who needs to hear this today.

How do you build ONE home… when you come from TWO completely different worlds and still try to raise a child rooted in faith?

This is our reality.

I’m Malagasy, raised and born in Madagascar. My husband is Latino American raised and born in the United States of America with roots in El Salvador and Honduras.

We speak different languages, we have different cultures and so many different ways of life.

And now… we’re building one home.

Yes, we’re raising our daughter trilingual; Malagasy with me and Spanglish with him. But what we’re building goes far beyond language.

We’re learning each other’s cultures daily; through food, through traditions, through what we choose to celebrate and pass on.

Two cultures. One family.

And here’s the part people don’t always talk about:

We don’t necessarily keep everything.

There are things we love deeply from our cultures and those, we pass on with intention. And there are things we’ve chosen to leave behind.

Because building a family isn’t just about where you come from...to our couple, it''s about what you choose to carry forward.

And at the center of it all is our faith.

That’s our true common language.

When we pray together, we often pray in English.
When I pray with our daughter, I pray in Malagasy.
When my husband speaks life over her, it’s in Spanish.

Different languages… same God.

We believe God placed our daughter in this exact mix on purpose. So we’re not just raising her to belong somewhere; we’re raising her to know who she is.

If you’re navigating life between cultures, or raising kids away from your roots… you’re not alone in this.

We’re learning as we go 🤍
