I want to create a moment of laughter. That can be a retelling of a shared memory with lively language that evokes greater emotion or adding a funny punch to something bland that makes a normal sentence suddenly feel like the chandelier has dropped on the table.

There can be times when it feels like it has all been bad. It is easier to remember the painful and dramatic. Bad memories thrive if we do not pause to water and cultivate that place where our good memories live.
Take a moment to pluck a favorite memory from your garden and write about it, why the memory is a precious one, and how you felt at that moment. How do you feel now, remembering the moment?

Here is your #20MinTopics idea the day for our November Chronically Awesome Writing Project.

Self-Confidence. Self-Confidence is the view you have of yourself in general or about areas of interest or expertise. Without self-confidence, our feeling that we have control of our lives is lacking. Self-confidence is important for everyone, but when we are ill we already feel like something else is in control of much of what we do each day.
Is there something in your life that gives you a healthy sense of confidence and control? A skill or talent? Something you know you have accomplished or that you regularly accomplish to YOUR satisfaction?
What is that thing? How did you find your self-confidence? How does it make you feel?

Try writing for 20 minutes.

Here is your #20MinTopics idea the day for our November Chronically Awesome Writing Project.
Do you start things that you have trouble finishing? A project like organizing? Maybe you have something creative you are working on, or you are trying to keep a journal.
The excitement you feel when you start something new, the feeling you get when you know that you are embarking on what will ultimately be something to be proud of or something worthwhile can be hard to hold onto.
What do you want to pick up again? Why do you think you get distracted or you just stop working or doing?
What would motivate you again?
Why did you start the project, to begin with?
Try writing for 20 minutes.

#20MinTopics Chronically Awesome Writing Project for November

Broadening upon our positive emotions of "Awe," and Joy," today we are adding: "Curiosity."

Yes, "Curiosity" is considered an emotion!

Let's talk about curiosity and why we could all benefit from a little more curiosity in our lives.

Jean Piaget called children "Little Scientists." Children are always exploring their world, and everything is new. When everything is new, a child creates her hypothesis and tests her thesis. Curiosity is why the word a parent hears most often is "Why?" (Tied with "No.")

Do you remember wondering if the light turned off when the refrigerator door closed? Did you open and close it and open and close it again?

Kids question what they do not understand with great enthusiasm. It is how they learn to understand the world, and it is a significant part if their cognitive development. Adults, conversely, are hesitant to say, "I don't know."
Why we NEED curiosity:
Curiosity helps our brains to become more aware of the world around us and can, therefore, aid our survival skills.
Curiosity releases dopamine, making us happier and helping to control pain.
Those of us who are curious are more empathetic and build stronger relationships. Our curiosity allows us to see and accept broader worldviews which in turn makes us more accepting of others. We, the curious, are receptive, interested, and empathetic to others, and, our curiosity is contagious! Curiosity begets curiosity!
And finally, the curious excel academically. So, there is that!

Building on our topic of "Awe," let's move on to "Joy."
Joy is the delight in being alive. Joy is the response to your happiness. But what is your joy? What is the source of the delight of your life and the key to happiness in YOUR life?
How do you define joy as you discover it and live it?

#20MinTopics Chronically Awesome Writing Project for November
Our 20-Minute Topic suggestion for today is a bit deeper than our previous ideas.

Take a look at the image and the topic of "Awe." Can you look at something beautiful and write about it with fresh, awe-filled wonder?
Here is a little about awe and why it is important.
Awe is that grand feeling of wonder in the presence of something magnificent, grand, or powerful. Awe inspires emotion.
Sometimes, we grow numb to awe. There is so much around us that the awe-inspiring is lost in all of the noise. Awe is important. A sense of wonder and awe adds to the expansion of our worldview. This is a benefit to those of us who live with mental and physical illness because it increases our resilience, our ability to bounce back.
