💙💛MAJOR UPDATE COMING TO WVU STADIUM!💛💙

West Virginia University is moving forward with a major new addition to Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, and Mountaineer fans will see a significantly upgraded premium seating and media area by the 2028 football season.

The new West Tower will be built on the west side of the stadium and will feature:

🏟️ 9 Founders Suites

🏟️ 16 luxury suites

🏟️ Elevated and traditional loge boxes

🏟️ A premium lounge for club-seat patrons

The fourth floor will feature a new game operations center with space for media, national television and radio broadcasts, and production operations.

💰 The project is estimated at approximately $150 million, with construction expected to begin following the conclusion of the 2026 football season.

WVU is targeting completion in time for the 2028 season.

WVU says the project is designed to increase premium seating options and create an additional long-term revenue source for the athletic department. The stadium's overall seating capacity is not expected to change significantly.

And there's another interesting possibility: WVU officials say the renovated stadium could eventually be better positioned to host large outdoor concerts during the offseason.

⛽ GAS PRICES SURGE IN ALLEGANY COUNTY ⛽️

If you've filled up lately, you've probably noticed the pain at the pump. 😳

The average price for regular gasoline in Cumberland is now about $4.39 per gallon, according to AAA, up roughly 18 cents from a week ago. Allegany County's average was reported at $4.29 per gallon, up 33 cents from last week.

At some local stations, prices are approaching or reaching the $4.50-per-gallon range, putting even more pressure on families, commuters and businesses.

WHAT'S DRIVING THE INCREASE?

The latest surge is being tied largely to global oil-market disruptions and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Oil prices have remained above $100 per barrel as attacks and disruptions threaten major energy infrastructure and shipping routes.

Maryland drivers are also paying state and federal fuel taxes on top of the underlying price of gasoline.

Maryland's motor-fuel tax is adjusted annually based partly on inflation, while the federal gasoline tax remains 18.4 cents per gallon.

The increases are adding up.

AAA currently lists Cumberland's regular gasoline average at $4.389 per gallon, compared with $4.207 one week ago and $4.008 one month ago.

For people who drive long distances to work, run businesses, haul goods or simply depend on their vehicle every day, these increases can make a significant difference in the household budget.

🌟FROM THE GARRETT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE 🌟

On September 14, 2026, deputies from the Garrett County Sheriff's Office responded to Mews Crescent Court for a reported assault.

As a result of the investigation, deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Jeremy Ray Guthrie, 39, of Oakland, charging him with:

• 2 counts of First-Degree Assault

• 2 counts of Second-Degree Assault

On September 15, 2026, Guthrie was arrested on the strength of that warrant.

He was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond.

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

❤️Thank You, Kim Leonard!❤️

After more than 25 years of dedicated service, one of the behind-the-scenes leaders at Allegany College of Maryland is stepping away.

Kim Leonard announced Tuesday on the Dave Norman Morning Show that this will be his final year as Chair of the ACM Board of Trustees.

“Ultimately, this is probably the and is the last year that I am chairing the board at Allegany College after 25+ years of being part of Allegany College, and it’s certainly been a pleasure to serve the community.”
For a quarter century, Kim has helped guide ACM on Willowbrook Road and made a lasting impact on students, faculty, and our entire community.

Thank you, Kim, for your leadership, your vision, and your service to Allegany College of Maryland and Allegany County. You will be missed!

⚡️POTOMAC EDISON PROPOSES RATE INCREASE⚡️

Potomac Edison customers in Maryland could see higher electric bills soon.

The company is proposing a $52.8 million rate adjustment that would raise the average residential bill by about 5.3%.

According to the Cumberland Times-News, Potomac Edison says the increase would support "continued investment in the electric system," including upgrades to aging infrastructure, grid modernization, and projects to strengthen reliability.

No final decision yet, but if approved, it would hit Maryland customers.

⚡️ P.U.C. WARNS OF INCREASED GRID STRAIN DUE TO DATA CENTERS⚡️

Heads up, Pennsylvania. State officials are warning that data centers could put major strain on our power grid by the end of the decade.

According to Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Chair Stephen DeFrank, a recent report found the grid may NOT be able to generate enough power to keep up with growing demand from data centers by 2030.

DeFrank warned power outages across the Commonwealth could "rise dramatically" if more data centers connect to the grid without new power generation being added.

His solution? Increase overall power generation using a mix of sources, including nuclear and natural gas.
