After punching through the hail core of a tornado warned storm near Rohwer, AR tonight, our driver Aly noticed this morning dove laying in the middle of the road. The dove had obviously taken a chunk of hail to the noggin and was dazed. She sat with us for a bit before she came to her senses. She was able to safely fly away.
An unwritten rule of storm chasing is to always stop and assist those in need, human or not.

Do you remember the plot device they named the "Devil's A**s" in Thor: Ragnarok? Well, Meteorologist Jason Cooley and I discovered it roaming around the Hill Country west of Medina, Texas, yesterday evening, dropping softball hail on anyone unlucky enough to be underneath it. This storm was tornado-warned several times as we followed it, but ultimately failed to produce one.

Chasing chills here in DFW today. 39 degrees has been a bit of a shock for Packer. Big boy needs his blanky 😄 A rollercoaster of temps over the next week with some much needed rain for us here in the metro on Monday and Thursday.

Enjoying a beautiful mid-70s night here in DFW watching these three chase each other. At least someone is getting some chasing in 😄 The bottom falls out of the temps tomorrow (Sunday) with brisk NW winds gusting to 30-35 mph followed by a freeze watch Monday morning.

A beautiful time-lapse! One year ago, Storm Chaser Jason Cooley and I were sitting underneath this very photogenic, tornado-warned storm west of Eunice, NM. While the storm was severely undercut, it did manage to produce a couple of very brief tornadoes and some tennis-ball-sized hail.
