I'm a proud alumni, an Irwin Club Donor, an alumni Cheerleader, ex captain of the hockey club, wife of another GVSU Alumni and proud parent of a Laker but also a proud parent of a Cardinal at SVSU. I have seen TWO incidences now of GVSU embarrassing me as a lifetime Laker for Life. One was at the Dodge Ball Tournament this past weekend when GVSU played SVSU and in the last chance of playing another game, GVSU just had SVSU throw at them so they could practice catching It was disrespectful and cocky to say the least and I was in the audience cheering for both SVSU (had a son on the team) and GVSU, as a Laker for Life myself. Now I see this article in the Lanthorn where GVSU is accusing SVSU of more or less "cheating in the BOV Fundraising?" Do you have proof? Is this a fair accusation? I sure am hoping so! So sad to me that GVSU is now cancelling the BOV Fundraising? Not impressive GVSU, not impressive! While you are casting stones (hopefully with proof), you are now not participating in the raising $1,000's of dollars to help others! Bad call! #notimpressed #lakerforlife #rethinkthis #NOTanchorsup

Hi! My name is Anthony Wolbert and I am a 2010 graduate of Grand Valley State University. I’m currently a middle school science teacher in Sturgis, Mi. I am asking for your help and support! I am competing to be 1 of 2 people in North America to be selected to win a trip to Sweden to go dog sledding and survive the arctic for a week. This is an incredible opportunity not only for myself but also for my middle school students. There are so many topics that I will get to share with my students from the mental and physical struggles to the interviews with the experts and other participants from around the world.
