CHARGING FORWARD IN 2023
One of the things I am looking forward to in 2023 is the State of GA implanting its electric vehicle
charging plans. Georgia has $135 million in funding from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure
(NEVI) Program. This plan outlines how Georgia intends to invest in charging stations that meet
customer demands, reduces range anxiety and ensure convenient and equitable access to publicly
available charging infrastructure. I traded in my gas guzzling V10 for an EV-and maybe you will too in
2023. See you on the roads of Georgia and when I stop to charge up.

Lionheart WORKS is a vocational program that places young adults with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences in jobs in around around Milton - like at the farm of Tony Rich, the Milton Equestrian Committee chair.
Currently, two young men are going to Rich’s farm weekly. They do much of the typical farm work: bring in fresh shavings, put out hay and feed, fill up water buckets and get to interact with the horses.
Rich says his family’s goal when they bought the farm - which isn’t a commercial training barn - was to give back to the community. He says the men from Lionheart WORKS do good work, they enjoy the work, and they’re learning a new skill set that they can take with them wherever they go.
For more, watch the video below and check on Friday’s Milton Herald for more on this partnership.
Hi, I am a mother of 3 young children in the Milton area. I currently have a son in 1st grade at Summit Hill Elementary. My husband and I have retained a lawyer to help advocate on our behalf for unmasking our children. The first steps in the process will be to have the lawyer draft a letter to send to the appropriate Fulton County contacts. Any publicity or attention we can draw to this letter will only strengthen our case. I have no idea if this will help or how far we will take the legal actions, but I do believe we have to try something. I would love to have anyone interested in putting your name on the letter to please contact me. Also, I would like to organize a meet for all those interested in taking further actions. I will have the attorney present to help answer questions and to discuss what options we have. Date, time and location to follow for the meet up. If you can help in any way, please do!
Share or pass this along. I really hope there are others out there that really want change.
As a 3-year-old, McKenzie Maloney often could be found during the summer wearing a bathing suit and bicycle helmet. Not swimming in a pool. Nor cruising the driveway on a bike. Rather, little McKenzie was most in her element riding ba****ck on a miniature horse named Spirit.
And loving it.
Eighteen years later, McKenzie still loves horses and riding. They have given her tremendous joy, taught her many life lessons, and helped her build mental and physical stamina. Through riding, McKenzie has gone places and accomplished things that she likely never dreamed of as a toddler – including as a member of the University of Georgia’s 2021 National Championship Varsity equestrian team.

This is the first in a series of profiles written by members of the Milton Equestrian Committee -- in this case by McKenzie's father, Brian Maloney -- for the Milton Herald. Their goal is to show the types of people, benefits and joys of being part of Milton's equestrian community.

Hi! Whatever happened to the “police blotter” section in the paper? Maybe I’ve overlooked it but seems like it hasn’t been there in a while?

I would like to know from the candidates running for our state seats what is there stance on recreating Milton County. This would Keep our hard earned tax money where it needs to be. All I see from Fulton County are a water bill , tax bill and school bus, I never see a Fulton County Fire truck ,Fulton County Sheriff, Never see Fulton County Public works. I do see our outstanding Police, Fire and public works. So let's Keep Our Money Home
