The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is increasing the number of specimen collection sites statewide for COVID-19 testing, and is revising the current testing criteria to accommodate more testing of Georgia residents.

Effective immediately, all symptomatic individuals will be eligible for COVID-19 testing. Health care workers, first responders, law enforcement and long-term care facility residents and staff will still be prioritized for testing regardless of whether they are or are not symptomatic.

Referrals are still required, however, there are now two ways to be referred to a DPH specimen collection site.

"My family will be moving to the area soon. Can anyone give us advice on elementary schools in the Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Duluth and Suwanee area that is good for students with disabilities?

My son is very mildly on the spectrum. Based on Gwinnett County we would be in a regular class but I'm wondering what services the school offers? Does anyone have any experience with how it is handled? What I can expect. My family is moving here from CA. Our priority is a school that can accommodate our child that our other kids can also attend. Thanks!"

02/02/2020

A soon to be Johns Creek family is seeking our help on school information and other local information. Let's see if we can help her out!
"I have lots of questions! My family is focused on finding the schools that will be the best fit and pairing them with a neighborhood. I hear that most of the Johns Creek/Alpharetta schools are considered good but I'm trying to get a feel for the specific pros and cons of each. We will pick a house based on schools as that's most important to us. I'm also wondering if anyone could help me get into the other mom FB groups for the area. I sent requests to a few so I could post some of my questions but I'm thinking they saw my location and denied me. We won't be moving until March- May timeframe but would like to come tour schools and house hunt. Thank you for your help!"
