Nobody talks about what happens after the organizing video ends…This is what an organized linen closet looks like after real life. For a while, this space was fully organized. Then sheets got pulled out, products got moved around, and things slowly stopped making sense. This reset wasn’t about making it prettier. It was about making it more functional for how we actually use the space. I changed a few things, reworked some zones, and hopefully my explanations behind each update help you create a system that works better for your home too.

I was ready to replace this front door. Carpenter bees and I go at it yearly and the stain was worn.

Instead, I sanded it down, applied a fresh stain, and gave the front porch a little attention too. One weekend, a fraction of the cost, and it completely changed the way the front of our house feels.

Sometimes the best curb appeal upgrade isn’t buying something new—it’s bringing back what you already have.

If your patio, pool area, or backyard feels like it’s missing something, it might be a fire feature.

This DIY fire bowl was one of the easiest outdoor projects we’ve done, but it completely changed how we use the space. Whether we’re hosting friends, hanging out by the pool, or just relaxing outside after dinner, it instantly makes the backyard feel more inviting.

The best part? It was a simple weekend project that looks far more expensive than it was.

The older I get, the more I cherish trips with no itinerary.

Give me a cozy cabin, a cup of coffee, a beautiful view, and a few days with my family—that’s all I need.

We spent the weekend tinsel.and.timber in the mountains hiking, tackling the rock slide, playing games, and slowing down long enough to enjoy being together before summer gets busy.

Truthfully, some of the best moments weren’t the big adventures—they were the quiet pauses in between.
