American Idol is moving to metro Atlanta. 🎤 The ABC singing competition will shift production from Los Angeles to the Atlanta area for its upcoming 25th season. The show’s exact Georgia studio location has not yet been announced.

One of North Georgia’s favorite young singer-songwriters, Eden Kirkland Music, joined the Ranch’s Southern Rhythm Revival house band last weekend as our September guest artist—and absolutely brought the house down! 🔥

We called the session “Eden Does Floyd,” featuring three Pink Floyd masterpieces recorded live at the Ranch. And wow… can Eden sing Floyd. We invited her because she is great, but we did not expect this (well, actually yes we did . . . )

The Ranch became a snare drum museum last night—and the first Timekeepers’ Guild meet-up hit hard!

We kicked things off with an audio tour through iconic recorded snare sounds—from The Ronettes to Zeppelin to Bruno Mars to Metallica. The takeaway was unmistakable: the snare is the heartbeat of a track, and the right sound can make or break a song.

Cheney Brannon brought serious drum history and tone to the live room with standout snares from his collection—including a 1928 Ludwig Black Beauty Deluxe, a 1940s Slingerland Radio King, an Honest Abe Copper, and an A&F Raw Brass. We heard each drum in action, then experimented with Moongels, Tandem drum towels, and other tools to shape the sound. Each snare was hotter than a sunburned turnip!

We capped off the night with Paul Barrie leading a hands-on clinic on dialing in the perfect snare sound.

Vintage drums. Legendary sounds. Serious craft. One unforgettable night for drummers and snare aficionados!

🎙️ Poetry is taking the mic—and heading to vinyl! 🎶

Support Deanna Repose Oaks—author of six poetry collections, frequent podcast guest, and champion of a vibrant local poetry community—as she captures the power, creativity, and camaraderie of open mic night at Acworth's The Crazy Book Lady on a 180g vinyl record. This project will feature 15 Atlanta poets and reinforce a welcoming community can help people feel seen, connected, and inspired.
