A busy weather day is unfolding across multiple parts of the country, with tornado, damaging wind, hail, and flash flooding threats all on the table.
πͺοΈ GULF COAST (LA/MS/AL/GA/FL)
The remnants of Arthur continue moving inland, bringing bands of heavy rain and rotating thunderstorms. A few tornadoes are possible today, especially across southern Mississippi, Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and parts of Georgia. Localized flooding and gusty winds will also be concerns.
β‘ MID-ATLANTIC & APPALACHIANS
Storms moving out of Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, and the Carolinas may redevelop this afternoon. Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat, but isolated hail and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out.
πͺοΈ NORTHEAST
A strengthening weather system will bring severe thunderstorms to portions of New York and New England. Low-topped supercells may develop, capable of:
β’ Damaging winds
β’ Large hail
β’ A couple tornadoes
β‘ OKLAHOMA / NORTH TEXAS
Scattered thunderstorms remain possible today, especially near a southward-moving frontal boundary. A few storms could become severe with:
β’ Large hail
β’ Damaging wind gusts

Storm chances continue from North Texas and southern Oklahoma eastward into the ArkLaTex and Gulf Coast states. Some storms may organize into clusters capable of damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
