✨WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS!✨
A new project, titled “66 Stories from Route 66” has launched to capture stories of Amarillo’s portion of the Famous Route 66. This one-of-a-kind collaboration seeks to connect community residents, business owners and historians with the next generation of journalists and storytellers.
✨HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED✨
We are looking for adult storytellers that have deep ties to Route 66 and youth fellows to record, interpret and collaborate the stories of those narrators. 66 storytellers and 66 youth fellows in all. Applicants can visit the link below to apply!
✨WANNA HEAR THE BEST PART?!✨
These stores will help inspire a massive mural that will be installed along Route 66, AND an interactive storymap supported by the National Geographic Society!
This interactive, unique project is lead by Blank Spaces Murals and 2892 Miles To Go, with support from Visit Amarillo, Center City of Amarillo, and the City of Amarillo, Texas, and is certified through the National Centennial Celebration.
