This past week, I revisited the topic on Scaffolding which is the teaching strategy that offers “just enough” support. Many times, we, as adults in the environment become so eager to help a child.

What gets in the way of allowing children to take charge of their learning may be our own anxiety in seeing them struggle, our rigid schedules hence we rush, or our valuing ‘perfection’ over incremental progress.

But it’s vital we take a step back.

Children flourish when we give them space to try. It’s empowering!

🪴Growth happens at the edge of ability, not at the center of comfort. Find that sweet spot of learning and you will empower the child! 🤍🩷

𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮. Even at just a few months old, reading builds connection, sparks curiosity, and supports brain and language development. Every story, sound, and cuddle helps your little one grow smarter, feel loved, and develop a lifelong love for learning.

𝐁𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥.

No matter what it is, be intentional with children. Being intentional doesn’t require fancy tools or costly activities. What matters is presence, patience, and purpose. Simple everyday moments like singing, playing, reading, or exploring become powerful lessons when done with love and mindfulness.

Like how in gathering things from outside allow them to learn about the world around them. It is in experiencing it with you that they become carefree, they discover new things, and build their own connections through their own creative minds.

☀️Let the LIGHT IN, without measuring the rays. 🌤️

My teacher once said the core of Early Childhood Education can be coined with the acronym “EEDLG”:

Recently, I have come across this creator that shared about the Vanderbilt Pre-K study that mirrors a 1970s German study, where kindergartens that emphasized academic instruction too early in Pre-K can lead to declining performance and behavioral challenges later on. Essentially, it supports a more balanced, play-centered approach in early childhood education.

As much as many agree with this, there were a few outliers who highlighted the importance of preparing children with prerequisite skills for the higher levels of their education.

Both can be true to create the best care for our little ones. How, you say? —— through exposure without expectations. Any form of play without pressure leads to joy, curiosity, and lasting learning. 🤍🩷

Growth isn’t a straight path—and that’s okay! Teachers, Parents, and children need to embrace the ups and downs. Progress comes with setbacks, learning curves, and surprises. Understanding this makes the journey more realistic, encouraging, and full of grace for everyone. 💐

Coming up with these Phonic cards have been a game-changer for me and the children I teach! They make learning letters and sounds fun and simple. It’s amazing watching kids get excited as they start recognizing sounds that words begin with—it’s such a great step toward confident reading! 📖🤓

It’s not just about counting to ten—understanding what numbers *mean* is key. When kids learn to quantify, like seeing that 3 blocks are more than 2, they build real number sense, setting a strong foundation for future math skills.
