My boy.. My sweet baby boy.. Where has the time gone? When did my baby boy with long hair, chubby cheeks, and rolls all over become the little boy with designs in his hair, crazy charisma, and an abundance of confidence and swagger. Looking back through the years is a reminder of how fast time is going. 7 years ago, I held you in my arms for the first time. We locked eyes, and I made a promise to God that I would love, care, and cherish you, all while raising you to be well manored, well-behaved, kind, respectful, and loving. Being your father has been so rewarding and, at the same time, equally challenging. It's forced me and continues to force me to look at myself, acknowledge my shortcomings and imperfections, learn from them, and grow from them. 7 years ago, you became a part of God's plan to make me a better husband. A better father. A better man. And I thank you. You look so much like your mom. But when it comes to your sarcasm, your witty sense of humor, down to your goals and aspirations, you couldn't be more like me. For that, I pray that God will guide me as I guide you to becoming a young man and eventually a better man than me. I also pray that you take all of my blessings and none of my curses. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you. I'm just begging time not to steal it so quickly and begging you not to rush it. You'll always be our baby boy. But try to stay this little boy for as long as you can. Thank you for being an incredible son and the best brother Jayce and Jarell could have. Thank you for being our blessing.. To the special boy that made me dad,

As the night comes to a close and the festivities of the day wind down, I just want to tell you how much I love you. Watching you grow these past 15 years has been a blessing. I've learned so much from being your dad. To this day, I'm still learning, and I'm still growing. You may be young, but true wisdom knows no age limit. And whether you know it or not, your wisdom is an inspiration to my life. Since you were born, I don't know anyone who's handled adversity like you. I don't know anyone whose love is unfiltered like your love. I don't know anyone who is unapologetically joyful like you. I don't know anyone who is as transparent about their feelings as you are.. All those things I admire you for because they are the qualities that I desire for myself, and Im workin. Thank you for loving daddy with grace. Thank you for showing me what unfiltered, unashamed, and unrestricted love looks and feels like. In your 15 years, you never judged me for coming up short, and you always let me know when I succeed. And just like that.. You're one year old.. My sweet baby boy.. I love you so much. The last piece to my legacy, and already I can tell you are going to do amazing things in your life. Already you've made me so proud. Good, bad, or indifferent, God's plan is always perfect. In his plan, he saw fit to bless us with the perfect baby boy. Your smile is infectious, and your laugh is contagious. Your strength is commendable, and your determination is admirable. Every day, I am amazed by you, and since the moment you were born, I have been in awe of you. Just when I thought I had this daddy thing down, you came along and proved otherwise. You proved me wrong for the better, and you challenge me to be better. I thank you for that. Because I know as long as you continue to be the amazing baby you are and grow into an amazing toddler and beyond, that means I have grown as well. I wish I could stop time, but I know that I can't. But I promise you that as time goes, and you grow, as long as it's God's will, I'll be there every step of the way.. I love you so much, Papa.. We love you so much.. Being a coach of any kind is not for the faint of heart. It takes sacrifice. Commitment. Mental fortitude. Passion. Appreciation. The will to want to. And integrity.

I built this First Time Fitness brand from nothing, and now it's become something I am slowly starting to be proud of. Coaching tackle football. Coaching flag football. Strength. Speed. Agility and conditioning. A lot of you have trusted me with the development of your athlete accross multiple sports and trusted that I would pour in and add to the core values that you have already instilled into them all while giving them a training foundation to build on, and I thank you. I don't take that honor and responsibility for granted.

First Time Fitness will only continue to grow from here, and I hope that I can be a part or continue to be a part of your children/athletes' growth for years to come..

It feels like every year on this day, I write the same words. I may say it differently, but the sentiment is the same. Well, that's because my love for you is never changing. Finding different ways to say it is like finding different ways to love you. Though the words and the methods may change, the fact remains that I loved you then. I love you now. I'll love you forever. When I look back at the journey that lead me to this moment, I can honestly say I'd travel the same roads if I knew it would lead me back to you. Thank you for loving me through my highs and lows and also making sure I never got too high or too low. Thank you for giving my life a bigger purpose than what I had planned. Thank you for being the biggest constant in my life. You Rw my best friend and closest homie. Thank you for believing in me when I refused to believe in myself. Thank you for having faith that I could and would be the husband you deserved. I hope up until now I've given you a reason to believe in me and believe in us. Believe that together we could get through anything. Believe that my love for you knows no boundaries, and I would do anything if that means you would keep a smile on your face. You account for all the blessings in my life I did not and do not deserve.. You are the living embodiment of God's love and grace in my life. You are the proof that the plans I had for myself were lacking in the comprehension that God wanted the best for me. So, to prove to me that his ways are not my ways. His thoughts are not my thoughts, and his plan for my life is not only superior but perfect. He hand crafted and molded you passionately and purposefully and sent you down to me on this day. I am so grateful that he did. Even more amazing, he realized you were too perfect to keep to myself, so he blessed 3 little boys with the gift of you as well.. One day they will call you the matriarch of our family. The driving force behind our family and the anchor that keeps us grounded. I love this day. I cherish this day. I thank God for this day. You daved me from myself in ways only God knew I would need saving. There is no such thing as perfect, but you have to know for me and these 3 boys.. You're as close as it gets.. We love you so much. Jayce, you made me a father.. Gave me the space and the grace I needed to make my mistakes and grow. Although I did my best, I can't thank you enough for loving me through my shortcomings.

Jarell, you showed me that I had the capacity to love more than one child. You continue to help me be a better father. You continue to show me new levels of passion. You are the embodiment of what God talks about when he speaks of childlike faith. And I thank you for your trust and unwavering faith in me.

Welp, it looks like we did it again.. Can I tell you how amazing you are. You are the embodiment of motherhood. You're so amazing at it, I wanted to see you do it a third time. And for the third time, I am left in awe of you. For the past 9 months, I watched you handle everything with grace, beauty, precision, and strength. As I watched you in that delivery room, I found myself falling deeper in admiration.. Deeper in respect. Deeper in pride.. Deeper in love.. Thank you so much for blessing me with another baby boy to carry my last name and legacy. Thank you for loving our boys the way you do.. Because it's different.. Where do I begin.. Let me start off by saying Happy Birthday, Baby Boy (well belated)... Welcome to the world. Mommy and I have been waiting for you for quite some time, and now that you're here, let me tell you, you were worth the wait. As I said before, my name is Daddy.. I'm the one God has blessed and tasked with the privilege and responsibility to guide you into being a good man. However, before we get there, we have a lot of growing to do. The both of us. I promise we'll grow and learn together. Even though I have a lot of experience under my belt with your two brothers, I promise you I'll never stop growing. That way, I can always be able to teach.
